There is no need to disassemble the stock gear set from the bearing door when installing the kit. Simply remove the gear set and replace the stock shift drum and ratchet pawl with those included in the BAKER Cruise Drive Smooth Shift Kit. Machined splines on the pawl to transmission lever reduce the chance of stripping, while the precision TIG welded shaft to ratchet pawl body and improved mechanical press fit design increase long term durability.
