Bought to save trailing mains leads around to provide Xmas lights on railings and hedges at front of house, have four in all. They are bright enough. I have powered them of USB battery packs, a 10 Ahour battery pack will run them for many days (guess is 10 days, we shall see), of the three batteries the one that senses a load presence is the most convenient and shows battery usage on a display rather than crude LED indicators. I simply put the battery packs in a zip lock bag underneath a plastic container to keep weather off.The remote works OK be it all very short range - which is probably just as well because the remote will operate any LED rope - so essentially I have 3 spare remotes since I only need one to operate any of the ropes.The USB connector has a single press switch on it which is used to power on/off and sequence through the patterns, but the wife decided pattern 1 was best anyway which seems to be the default. There seems no obvious way of using the timer without the remote.You could operate the rope from a USB charger if need be but that requires all those trailing mains leads.Happy with purchase

I bought these last year as part of my outdoor Christmas display in my front garden. I had also bought two sets of standard copper fairy lights not in tubing that although were just as beautiful they were much more delicate and easier to damage. When I bought these lights last year they had the power connection as a waterproof battery compartment that worked perfectly and kept the three AA batteries they take nice & dry. However I was unable to buy more of these this year as they have made the power connection USB & so I fail to see how these can work safely outdoors as the USB connection doesn’t look waterproof plus the IP rating is rather low for my personal liking.The fairy lights are kept safe in tubing that I personally think makes the lights that little bit brighter. They are still very easy to wrap around things such as trees/bushes but may not be quite as flexible as standard copper lights without tubing. They have various flashing modes, some of them are rather intense so I only use the static setting as part of my Christmas display.I also took these lights to our caravan this autumn to wrap around my decking/balcony & once again they looked absolutely gorgeous and made our van that bit easier to spot in the dark.I would only recommend this item with a waterproof battery compartment and a higher IP rating.

Bought to ang above cot and hypnotize young baby, worked a treat! Worth their weight in gold to get her to sleep. Great that you can use remote to change pattern and also dim lights. Bought as they are in a soft plastic tube so if she did manage to grab and stick in mouth would not get a shock (always under supervision and removed once asleep). Has teeth now though so will just use for decoration.

I bought these lights for my daughters sensory corner in her bedroom, they came well packaged and the instructions were easy to use. The remote came with batteries and the remote is also very easy to use, these lights do everything you would expect from rope lights. They are incased in plastic which is a bonus as my daughter chews everything and they also have different modes, flashing, slow flash, chasing and static to name a few. I personally found static the best. I would just be careful if you or whoever you're buying for are sensitive to light, I don't have any experience with light sensitivity but as I used the flash setting it was very fast and intense and wouldnt like to be staring at this sequence for a while as it felt uncomfortable, over all very pleased with my purchase and my daughter loves these lights and really help with her sensory seeking

These are fine LED wire lights encased in a frosted flexible tube, which both protects and prevents tangling of the wire and softens the light. There are four colours in the sequence; blue, green, red and warm white, with various adjustable fade and flash settings to suit every occasion, controlled remotely. The set arrived well packaged in a sturdy box, and there is a drawstring bag included to keep everything together when not in use. They were easy to set up and all of the accessories work perfectly. Great set of lights, great service and prompt delivery, highly recommended!

Lights are a good price the remote is easy to use it’s the brightness that lets them down .

Purchased these quite late into the Christmas season as I was disappointed in a pair of light sets which turned out not to be suitable for outside use.These were to go around two gates at the top of my driveway which is more than 50 feet from the house. The tubes of lights themselves are very flexible, an opaque tubed with the tiny lights running through the centre, they are flexible enough to be wound around the gateposts and through the upright bars of the gates. Ideally you can just loop them through themselves at the end so don't even need something to tie them down.There are about eight different settings, some very "flashy" and others where the colours faded into each other which was ideal for gateposts where I didn't want anything that might be distracting to road users!!!One set of batteries lasted very well when using the timer, especially as the lights were used for some weeks. I did find that you needed to be quite close to be able to use the remote control but the timer worked quite well most of the time (there were a couple of occasions when they didn't come on and I assumed that the batteries had gone, however when I pressed the on/off switch on the battery box they came back on and worked again).I would definitely recommend these and have, in fact, kept them out to use in the summer month in the garden.

Bought this for youngest son, he loves them, build quality feels really good for the remote and the rope light itself, the wire connection between the rope light and the usb connector feels a little flimsy, but not too bad, will need to see how it holds up, current draw seems to be about 0.15A so should give a decent run time from a power bank.Nice and bright, with some degree of brightness control.
