The item I received is unsuitable to check gold sovereigns. I have tested a large number of 2016 gold sovereigns - sourced directly from the Royal Mint - and I can point to two faults:1) There is no real gap for accurately testing the thickness of a gold sovereign. Sovereigns are "tested" at an open-ended side which basically is useless (not to point the fact that even with naked eye the open-ended gap is larger than what is should have been).2) "Testing" for the width (diameter) of the gold sovereign is also faulty because the gap is wider by about 2mm (vs. the real dimensions).This item suffers from a number of errors and it is a SCAM. A waste of £5.56!

A useful little tool to check coins; although I would not say it would stand-up to being attached to a key ring as described. Very good customer service.

Look good if it will be better make from plastic or stainless steel then mdf

Very nice and handy item for checking your coin size. It is made from a hard plastic and the item is small enough to be carried around on your key chain.I like the fact that you can check different type of coins using this single checking jig.Compact and light weight.
