Firstly, the service I received from this supplier (Homcom) was first class. When the unit arrived, it was missing a vital part, one email and 2 days later, they had sent me, not just the missing part, but a complete new trainer. Top notch guys, there are not many around that provide service like that.Now the trainer....It is basic...If you are looking for adjustable resistance or analysis of all your body functions, then this isn't going to provide it. What you will be able to do, is set it up (takes no more than 15 mins from opening the box to being ready for use) and pedal. From various sites I have looked at, the best way for any novice rider/first timer (of which I am both) to use these items is to cadence train...ie spin the pedals at your optimum level; this item should be good for that.Resistance comes from screwing the roller unit further into the wheel, rather than any magnetic forces, but it does the job, although I suspect there may be a penalty in the form of tyre wear (not uncommon for these trainers, I have read)In operation it is quiet (I use a road bike with race tyres), but I am waiting to see if the good people in the flat below agree with me on that score; there is a low level hum (not unlike a washing machine on wash mode) which could, after about 15 mins, annoy a less than tolerant neighbour.In summary, a good solid, quiet in operation, product that fulfils a need to pedal when the weather is rubbish, but won't appear in the medical bay of the Star ship Enterprise.An excellent entry level model which will let you discover if turbo training is for you before shelling out hundreds of quids on more exotic equipment.

A late review on this but I ordered this in 2012 and is still going strong. Deffo worth the money it will last. I haven't exactly looked after mine either leaving it outside in all weather just spray bit of wd40 on it and of she goes. Perfect for keeping your levels up when the weather isn't allowing you out. Plus you get to watch tv at the same time.

At the price this is a good peice of equipment easy to set up and adjust a little noisy as previous reviews stated but as I use in Garage no problem.Delivery excellent especially as this is a heavier item

good piece of kit does what it says on the can, easy to set up, but probably not the best for a realy searious rider

Great contraption, set it up outside undercover. Handy if you only have 5 mins to spare. Roads too busy these days for me.
