Nite Ize LED Upgrade Combo II - Fits AA Mini Maglite,Black

I bought this to get my very old mini mag working again as it was missing the bulb and tail cap spring. Also the reflector was old and worn so this kit had everything I needed to get the torch up and running again. Let me tell you it doesn’t disappoint. It works perfectly and feels quality. I’d have been happy if I just got the torch running again but the fact it’s running and now LED is a massive bonus. The only negative is that the tail cap is now black and not the anodised red like the rest of the torch but what can you do it’s really not that big a deal. I can’t recommend this enough!

Biggest complaint in the clicky switch thing, which you think is going to be a nice addition until you realise that you sacrifice the place you would attach a wrist strap to. Which also means that the torch now rolls around on a flat surface as the wrist strap ring used to prevent this. I don't think you have to use the clicky switch, as you can still twist it on and off. I will be putting the old cap back on as having a wrist strap and a torch that doesn't roll off the desk is more valuable to me than a clicky switch. The instructions are ok but there is a step that is not super clear, plus they are printed on a super small piece of paper which doesn't help. The step in question is the bit under the number 3 in the photo. There is a crossy out sign and the word "no" over a little bit of plastic that the bulb sits in (that you can turn constantly). It is not clear if the crossy out sign and "no" meant to remove it. Thankfully I didn't as the diagram is trying to tell you that you DO NOT remove that bit.

I have twenty year old AA Maglite which has been given a new lease of life with the LED and switch. Well made and functional.

I have owned a Maglite Mini AA for over 10 years and rarely used it due to the poor light output, weight and battery life when compared to cheap LED keyring torches that people have given away for free. I'm not one to throw away things so I decided to upgrade to this LED system. Now price wise, it is a bit much; for the same money you could easily buy another LED torch and it is likely to be brighter and lighter than the Maglite Mini. Overall I am fairly happy with the purchase. It revived an old torch back to life even though I might not use it much. Good Bits - improved light output - maintains focus from flood to spot - click on/off is handy and easy to use Bad Bits - There are other LED torches that are brighter and smaller for the same price - Top cap doesn't fit as snuggly. The chrome cap is slightly bigger

The LED is still working fine, but the push button switch stopped working after a few months of very light use. Fortunately I kept the original maglite rear cap to put back on.

Took one minute, old weak yellow light now bright white, and a sensible on/off without mucking with the focus. Great bit of kit!

Wenn ich in den letzten Jahren zelten war habe ich gemerkt, dass meine Mini-MagLite nicht mehr mit anderen Taschenlampen mithalten kann. Ich verwende sie meistens mit Akkus, um den Batteriemüll zu vermeiden, und vielleicht auch deshalb war das Licht schon immer eher schwach. Ich muss dazu sagen, dass meine MagLite schon ziemlich alt ist, und deswegen habe ich auch noch keine Xenon-Birnen verwendet. Jedenfalls wollte ich gerne mehr aus der Taschenlampe rausholen, ohne sie ersetzen zu müssen, weil sie mir sowohl optisch als auch haptisch sehr gut gefällt. Mit diesem Upgrade-Kit bin ich wirklich begeistert! Die Lichtausbeute ist wesentlich höher, und ich bin froh, dass ich die MagLite so noch ein paar Jahre verwenden kann. Sicher sind aktuelle Taschenlampen noch sehr viel heller - das mag sein. Aber für ein Upgrade-Kit ist das schon sehr in Ordnung. Kann ich nur empfehlen! Ich habe jetzt gesehen, dass es noch ein stärkeres Upgrade-Kit gibt, mal sehen, ob ich das auch mal ausprobiere...

1997年に買ったマグライトミニのハロゲンバルブが切れスペアが入手できずに諦めていたところにこのLEDキットで復活できました。 今時のLEDライトほど明るくはなりませんが、標準のハロゲンバルブを比較すれば明るくなり色も白色になり明るさを感じる要因となっていると思います。 狭いところを照らすにはこのミニライトも役立つことは多いものです。 新しいLEDライトを5000円程度で買え、そちらが100ルーメンといスペックであることを考えると徳とはいえませんが愛着のあるものの復活という面でとても満足です。（このアップグレード品の輝度は30ルーメンです）

Ik gebruik in de wintermaanden dagelijks een zaklamp met het uitlaten van de honden. Mijn nieuwere led-lamp slikte accu batterijen heel slecht, ze zijn zo leeg. Deze led aanpassing voor mijn oude Aa maglite zorgt ervoor dat ik slechts 1 keer per week de accu batterijen oplaad. De lichtopbrengst is prima om gezien te worden en op een afstand van ongeveer 5 meter voldoendeicht te hebben om te lopen. En zo is de oude vertrouwde maglite weer in gebruik.
