The Bamboo Straw:Bamboo is one of the most sustainable resources on earth. Its antibacterial properties and its soft and warm touch make it particularly suitable to be in contact with food. Designed by nature, this bamboo straw is a great step away from the damages caused by the single-use plastic straws. These straws are made from carefully selected culms of solid bamboo. The bamboo is sanitised and cured through a natural process and the straws are made by hand. Each straw is tested for durability and made to be re-usable over several years. The product was designed with the purpose of offering a sain and natural straw, great to use and with a great finish. This is a meaningful alternative to the plastic straws, from both a quality and an ecology perspective. Maintenance: After each use, clean with warm soapy water, using a pipe brush when necessary. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to fully dry in the air. Store in dry place. If deep cleaning is required, place in cold water and bring to boil. Let it simmer for 1-2min and remove from the water. Allow it to fully dry. The sizes: Straws are available in several diameter sizes. The diameter is given with an approximation of plus or minus 1mm (for example, the diameter of the straws in a box of standard size (8mm) will range from 7.01mm to 8.99mm). Thin (6mm) : Great for flat drinks with low viscosity. Looks great in a tall thin glass. Standard (8mm) : Good for any general use. Big (10mm) : Better suited for smoothies or thick juices. Jumbo (12mm) : Specially designed for bubble teas or other drinks with bits.

I love handing one of these straws to my guests
I recently received my pack of bamboo straws, and have since been using them to enthusiastically drink my smoothies, juices, water and cocktails. I had given up on straws as I wanted to cut back on consuming single use plastic. In this pursuit I had also tried a reusable metal straw, but for some reason this material didn't feel very pleasant against my teeth, so I gave up straws altogether. That is until I tried out the bamboo straw! Knowing that contrary to plastic, or even reusable glass or metal straws the bamboo straw is reusable and can be cleaned whilst being completely biodegradable and natural... I love handing one of these straws to my guests, children, bartenders and cocktail makers in restaurants and seeing the pleasant surprise register on their faces. It's also creates an opportunity to gently or passionately answer questions that arise! In short I highly recommend these smooth bamboo straws with their neutral but pleasant mouth feel, that adds all the fun back to slurping my favourite drinks!
