I was skeptical that this would work but it saves time/fingers. For the price, it's worth it if you're doing more than a few ethernet cabels.

crazy simple to use and SO nice for untwisting and straightening in one motion!! these things should just be part of the connector clip kits!!

Definitely worth it if you have to untwist a bunch of cat 6, it is efficient but the quality of the grip sleeve could've been better quality for the price. Not something you whip out unless you got to do alot of cat 6. If you got like 5, just run it like a man and use your fingers.

This has absolutely changed the game for prepping twisted pairs for termination. Sore fingers, say goodbye! This has earned a permanent place on my tool belt and has cut my termination time down by about half.

This little tool works great for untwisting the the CAT 6 twisted pairs and straightening them. It makes working with pass through RJ-45 connectors so much easier.

Good value for usage

I put on about 50 RJ45 connectors this weekend, and these two tools ended up being the mainstay of the job. The cable stripper we are all familiar with, and it worked fine. The brass "untwister tool" I had to fool around with a bit, but ended up using it as follows: (a) in each twisted pair, put the tube over one of the wires and push it towards the base of the strip, twirling it as you do it so that the two wires end up separating. (b) slip the tube down over each separated wire, bend it 90°, put your thumb over the opening to trap the wire and pull outwards, straightening the wire using the rounded edge of the tube as an anvil. This sequence allows you to have eight straight wires at the end of your cat cable in a pretty short time, without damaging the wires or killing the skin on the end of your fingers. Really nice.
