Tinderbox Games - Scrabble Large Print - Board Game

Hello. We have had junior version ( good while their young ) travel version ( good for trains but too small ) standard version ( pieces move all over board when swiveling) This is the one you want, turns, not oversized just right sized and clear. Family recommendation from 10 yr old, 12 yr old and 2 grown ups - this is the one, it will complete you. Did I have you from the start.

I purchased this for my parents, as avid scrabblers I hoped that it would not be a disappointment.In short...IT IS SUPERB, if I could give more than 5 stars I would.The board is laid out as a normal board would be, with the addition of pegs which form a locking mechanism for the tiles.The positioning of the tiles, so that they engage on all corners, can take a while to get the hang of. However once achieved, the result is a solid, unmovable board, which can even be turned upside down without any movement.The board can also rotate which makes it easier when playing with more than 2.The tiles are excellent, twice the size of regular tiles, with clear large print font.The racks are also well designed, slightly longer and deeper than traditional ones, but with the addition of an anti tip stand, it means that the rack is more stable for hands that may be a little shaky.All on all definitely a good buy, clearly the RNIB have worked with the game producers, with the result of a really good addition to the Scrabble family.

The board is well designed to keep the tiles in their place, so accidental knocks don't scatter the words all over the board. The tiles are a really good size for small fingers to use.It's an excellent set as a starter, to get children interested in words and 'proper' spelling.

Tiles are large enough for my partially sighted Mum to use, letters are nice and clear, with the tiles being approx 1" square & bold black letters. The 'clip in' system is really helpful for those with sight problems, preventing the tiles from being knocked. Turntable feature unstable and pretty unusable really. It is overpriced though in my opinion, compared with the price of a regular sized one, but overall, happy with my purchase.

excellent version of a "Scrabble"- large print tiles, rotating board, a very practical plastic grid that holds firmly the tiles in place. The only downside is that it takes a bit longer to store the game after playing exactly because it is a bit more difficult to remove the played tiles from the board. Maybe at this price an hourglass could have been included, but that is a very minor point (I use to play with a timer).

Brought this for my mum as she finds the original pieces hard to pick up and place on the board. The size of the pieces are easier for her to pick up and the tile lick means the tiles stay in place which is brilliant.

Excellent board for visually impaired who love scrabble. I've played with this board with two different mixed sight groups. The only criticism was that the tiles take longer to remove at the end of the game as the board doesn't fold. It only takes a bit longer than normal in my opinion. I love this game as the tiles are so easy to see and stay put once placed. The swivel action of the board, as well, makes each turn go quickly.

Very pleased with the large tiles in this game - very easy to play with my mother who is partially sighted. Easy to read lettering and the board is easy to use. I did not like the turntable as it was wobbly and difficult for my elderly mother to add her tiles to, but solved this by removing the screws in the back. Would recommend this item
