The new Hovergrill was reintroduced in the Fall of 2013. The Hovergrill is a 17 3/4" collapsible grill, and stands 3.5" high. When combined with the 22.5" Weber kettle, it will give a total cooking area of 550 square inches to smoke over 15 pounds of ribs or 7 chicken halves. The Hovergrill can also be used with the 26.75" Weber kettle. Please note that the Hovergrill will not fit in the 18.5" Weber Kettle. Paying a high price for cooking area extension.
4 stars only because of price.Effectively means I can smoke more using my slow’n’sear on the Weber. Which means opening up, covering this with wings then leaving it for another 3hours prior to deep frying the wings and removing whatever mat was on the Weber grill.I think it’s overpriced by 25-30% though owing to the construction evident.

Nice gadget to expand the cooking area on a 57cm kettle bbq.Gives you enough room below and above to cook your food. Only slight issue is it can be tricky to add more charcoal with this on top of the original grate as this slightly gets in the way of the adjustable hinges.

Not necessary unless you plan to smoke a lot of food at once.
The impression is that you need this to complete the conversion to a smoker - but you don't. its simply an additional grill to expand the volume of food that can be smoked at one time. had I known this I would not have bought it.
