ZooBooKoo Educational Multiplication Tables Cube - Times Tables One to Twelve

I wanted to buy something to show my support for my eight year old home educated relative, who is currently in the middle of one of the most mind-numbingly boring phases of anybody's education - learning the times tables by heart. There seem to be umpteen books available to buy, all attempting to gloss over the fact that learning these tables... well, it's damn dull. Fortunately, I discovered this.This may only be eight cubes held together by stickers and what appears to be black magic, but it actually manages to conceal every times table up to the 12x table AND the numbers 1-12 in four different languages (English, German, French and Spanish). To cap it all, it is an extraordinarily entertaining little toy to just play with if you have too much nervous energy. Maths in all of its forms tends to give me too much nervous energy, so I don't go near it myself for fear of hyperventilating. But the eight year old tells me all I need to know of its shapeshifting powers from a suitably safe distance.That's how I sold it to her originally by the way, as just a fun little toy. Maths wasn't even discussed at that stage. Even when she said something along the lines of, 'You know there are times tables on here?' I kept my cool. 'No... Really???!!!' I think my voice must have gone up into the very high frequency range at the end of that, which I did worry might make me sound a bit insincere. My fears were unfounded - she just thought I was REALLY excited! In fact I think that's why she suddenly took a great interest in using this to learn her times tables: she thought I might try to steal it back. Which I probably would have done... if it hadn't have been for those pesky tables.

This item arrived in good time and has been a big hit with my kids, although they do seem to prefer playing with it rather than actually learning their tables! This is a good quality item at a reasonable price and fits into school bags neatly. I can't comment on durability as we have not had it long enough, although it has stood up to three children fighting over it. This has been such a hit that other items in the range are now on Christmas lists.

This is so fantastic, brought this years ago and looking through my amazon purchase I really wanted to review this. Kids love fidgeting with it and they learn the tables a lot better. Really recommend

What a totally ingenious and fascinating toy, which i have to say could quite easily also be given as a stocking filler for an adult as a desk toy. It will keep everyone entertained for ages and my 6 year old Son takes it as his toy in the car and is learning his times tables whilst playing with it. It really is one amazing purchase and i'll definitely be purchasing others in the set.

I ordered this cube for my son to practice his tables and while it does the job the cube looks like it has already been used. The paper on the cube is creased and is peeling away from the base blocks. It did not arrive in the packaging as pictured and was tied up in a plastic bag!

A fun way to learn one of the most useful tools for everyday living. It IS small but it packs a lot of information into a compact space. I have bought these little cubes for my grandchildren and they cover many subjects in an entertaining way. An excellent idea.

This was used to help my grandson learn the concept of the times tables (ie add the same number on each time ) He mastered the concept. A very useful tool
