Cat Mate Large Cat & Small Dog Flap, Secure 4-Way-Locking Mechanism, Brown

I originally bought an alternative cat flap based on my boys sizes and weights, but having fitted it, it soon became obvious that it was far too small. I don't think my boys are excessively large, they are Siamese cross and weigh 6-6.5kg. I genuinely did not believe they would need a large cat flap - but I was wrong. This cat flap is excellent quality and fits beautifully in our wooden kitchen door. Absolutely no draught gets through, but it is still easy enough for the boys to push. The locking mechanism could perhaps be simpler, but once you suss out how it works, it's no big deal. It's a very solid, quality item. My boys are 3 years old and had never used a cat flap before, with the exception of the previous purchase that was too small. Having struggled with that one, I wondered if it would put them off trying with this one, but the initial hesitance lasted no more than a few hours before they realised they could get through this one so much easier. I admit, the original cat flap was cheaper, but you can't put a price on your cats happiness, and it's not as if this was overpriced, it is worth every penny. Definitely recommended.

Good pet safety with easy to use mechanism, good pet access, we use for our pet Yorkie Jack, good quality construction and,seems to have good durability, a nice value for money product.

Bought for lean too door so cat can always get in and out , second one ive bought as last one after 2 years just kept sticking but for meoney i wanted same again and im happy with it , its not a micro chip one which i have on main house door but its really cheap and looks good

Second time purchase. First one lasted for 4 years before it needed replacing. Super easy install. Easy for the cat to use. Would recommend and will probably buy another one in 4 years time.

I bought the large size model as our two cats are giant bruisers - 6 and 7 kilos respectively and it was just as well as the normal size would have definitely been too small! It was easy enough to fit - I'm no DIYer but I managed to fit this ok in a wood panel garden gate. the instructions aren't the best - make sure you read carefully as I ended up drilling holes that were too large but rectified it by bolting it together with retaining nuts rather than using the supplied screws. In action it works well; I only lock it when we're away as "the boys" like to come and go at all other times. The flap has a light action and our moggies love being able to look through it. the magnet is strong enough to hold the flap in place in all but the strongest winds. I wouldn't like to say what the lifespan is likely to be but it's been outdoors in all weathers for nearly six months at the time of writing this review and other than being a bit dirty and dusty (we live on a building site at the moment) it looks and works absolutely fine. Loses a star for the instructions but absolutely fine in use - if all you want is a cheap, basic catflap then I can recommend this.

From what I could tell, this is almost identical to the similar product for small dogs, but cheaper. We have a long-legged Jack Russell cross and she fits through the flap easily. The item arrived promptly, well-packaged and with clear fitting instructions. Fitting is easy. The scary bit is cutting the hole in your pristine door (I waited until my wife was out!), but it's easy with the provided stick-on cardboard template. Then it's just a case of holding the inner panel in place, marking the four screw holes with a pencil and drilling, before screwing it into place. The four-way locking mechanism allows; out-only, in-only, fully-locked, or fully unlocked. The tabs are slightly fiddly to operate, but work well. There is a strong magnet to hold it shut and soft bristles surrounding the flap to stop drafts. Our dog mastered the flap in about ten minutes, with the aid of a few treats. Although I can't vouch for its long-term durability yet, the product seems well-made and well designed.

Good quality cat flap. 4 way locking option, although I snipped off the locking tabs as it's fitted to an internal door so I could keep the door closed to keep out draughts. I have 3 Norwegians, the biggest is around 10 kilos and they can all use it with no problems. I also have a clumber spaniel and a 5 year old, neither of those can get through it. Easy to fit, all of the fittings and the cutout template are provided. I used a 38mm and a 64mm holesaw to get the radius on the corners when cutting the door. I've been thinking about replacing the existing cat flap on the external door and would buy another one of these without hesitation.

Bought this for my 8kg cat, who struggles to get through small cat flaps. This product is well made, comes with a robust door template, a good selection of fixings, and the flap is plenty big enough for large cats and probably small dogs. The two parts of the flap independently screw into the door, so no issues trying to line up the two parts of the flap to screw them together. Looks good, non-intrusive clips to select lock mechanism, so my cat doesn't scrape his belly on them. Very pleased with the flap.

In het oude huis had ik dit kattenluik ook, mijn kat is groot en gaat hier gemakkelijk doorheen, de andere bleef in mijn oude woning en bij verhuizing heb ik deze opnieuw aangeschaft. Mijn kater Sam houdt niet van de klik van een luikje met een chip scanner en deze is gewoon handmatig te bedienen met en in verschillende standen .

Tengo esta puerta instalada en una pared de cemento muy gruesa que da al jardín. Como los gatos no tenían la costumbre de salir por ahí, tuve que quitarles su desconfianza dejándoles la puerta abierta y medio abierta por varias semanas hasta que se acostumbraron. Una vez que el primero salió y entró sin mi ayuda, el segundo hizo lo mismo. Ahora ya es su entrada y salida habitual. Funciona bien, es bastante silenciosa y no deja pasar el frío. Para mi ha sido una liberación y supongo que para los gatos también. Espero que dure mucho porque tuve que encargar la instalación a un albañil profesional y pagué mucho más de lo que costó la puerta. En paredes y puertas normales supongo que eso no sería necesario.
