I own five of these 16x-to-1x risers and one 16x-to-16x riser from the same supplier, so I may be able to shed some light on the murky territory of PCI-e risers.The circuit boards, PCI-e slot, and ribbon cable are indeed good quality and all of my risers arrived in a sealed antistatic bag. That said, the assembly quality is variable. I inspected the solder joints and checked all of them for shorts and proper electrical continuity between the top and bottom. Some of them are immaculate; others have a number of poor solder joints that function nonetheless--they just look poised to short adjacent connections. One will also notice that some have all of the leads on the PCI-e slot soldered while others only have the necessary connections and a few at the back for mechanical stability. Whoever produced these definitely had a better jig for assembling them than your humble reviewer and I found it very tricky to actually correct the few joints that looked too sketchy for me to use without at least some attention.I bought them on Amazon for quick shipment and easy returns (both of which came through very well). I returned two of the 16x to 16x I originally bought because of my aforementioned paranoia about the quality and because I strongly prefer the short ribbon cables for easy bending in the installation. Unless you definitely need the full card PCI-e bandwidth or don't want (potentially) to need to jumper the motherboard slot to trick it to using the card in 1x mode, I would recommend these completely.I have also modified three of these to be powered risers. The ribbon cable and its wires are robust enough to make this a relatively painless process, and all of my modifications worked very well.

It's perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. Good solid construction. I wish they were a few inches longer. I used these to upgrade my mining rig. The cards are now separated and have way more breathing room and run much cooler.

Works exactly as it should. Does not provide additional slot power though, so if you have a really high power card do consider a different model with additional power connector. But for this price, I didn't expect it to have the additional power connector.
