What an amazing book. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Needed to read it more quickly! *by M***S on 27 July 2016* If I'm honest, I struggled a bit with this book. This surprised me because I had been greatly impressed with Brené Brown's TED talks (these and an on-line recommendation led me to buy the book). In a strange way, because the book is essentially a description of her research into vulnerability and being wholehearted, there is a specialist jargon of quite normal words which I never fully adjusted to. Perhaps that was because circumstances forced me to read in bite-sized chunks: it may have worked better if I could have found some dedicated longer reading periods. Having said all that, as I reflect, reconsider the chapter headings, and look up a few things in the comprehensive index (thank you), I realise that there were parts that were enlightening and insightful, for me especially the explanation of gender differences and the later chapters on "Minding the gap", education and parenting. My daughter tells me that I should have read Brené's "Gifts of Imperfection" first (she devoured it in a few days I gather.
