Reer Baby Natural Hair Brush

Okay, let's talk about the elephant, or rather, goat, in the room. The brush is gorgeous, it's super soft and the handle is light and has a lovely natural feel. I've brushed my newborn hair and it's perfect for gently dusting cradle cap away.But then I lean in to smell his sweet baby musk... And he's musky alright. We had pet sheep as a child so linalool (the natural oil produced by sheep and goats) isn't an unfamiliar smell to me. But it was a jarring contrast to the sweet smell of my baby's head I was expecting.I can actually smell the brush as it sits on the side next to me.Now the packaging says to not get it wet as the wood may crack, but even had I not wanted to use it to help wash his cradle cap away after a soak in the bath - I need to wash this thing.The quality of its use is completely marred by the spoiling of my child's smell - all you baby-sniffers out there will know what I mean...!So I've got not choice but to oil the handle as much as possible - it's unvarnished and therefore porous - and to then shampoo the bloody thing to try and get the linalool off.Really disappointed as we live in an age where we have to choose between plastic and environmental harm, and an animal by product. I would normally avoid the by-product but just this once I felt it was the more concious choice. But this has been such a disappointment I should have chosen nylon bristles.Will update on how the washing goes. But seriously, makes you wonder how well the bristles were cleaned in the first place?

Very soft brush, my son does not like when I brush his hair no matter what brush I would use, but I like that it's made out of wood and the bristles are super soft.

I hated the look of the plastic ones they reminded me of the cheap ones you get with cheap children's dolls . I love this it looks nice and is well made , really soft as well . Really nice on her hair

I'm happy with the product. Very soft.

Bought for elderly mother with very fine hair but the bristles are too soft. I would say this is only good for new borns.
