Hmm..., 4 is being generous, but the seat is sturdy and my 4-y old son instantly warmed to it, so there goes the extra star! The second reason I did not send it back was because it is to be used as back up at the gran's, so temporarily. Better than average choice of colour too (I still went for a blue, but I like the fact that you're not stuck between a dull blue and a flashy pink).The material and surface are comfy indeed and prevent skin from sticking and the raised back border works pretty well as an alternative to handles (although his arms need to go further backwards if he wants to rest them there).But the main flaw (and the reason why I got rid of a similar cushy Pooh version with side handles) is that the seat simply does not fit the toilet seat. It's about 31.5 cm in length externally, and would need to extend to about 10 cm more to reach the back of standard seats. His main seat is 41 cm and did just that. So I had to hold it at first with my son on it because I feared it could bend. After a while, I was reassured that the seat was firm enough to support his weigh, but I'm still not entirely convinced.PS: I wish I had seen they were available cheaper elsewhere, I would have felt less bad about it.
