Review: Silence is golden :) - Hands down the best power supply I've ever used. Packing and presentation is excellent, cables are plain black (no ketchup and mustard) with a decent braid (the best I've seen come with a psu), and more than enough to build a fully kitted out rig with - it even comes with a psu 24pin jumper for if you plan to watercool, neat! In operation the PSU is near silent! My previous corsair CM650 had a tendency to make weird electrical noises at seemingly random intervals, and it became extremely annoying. The EVGA model isn't perceivable until you put your ear right up to it, and even then it's very quiet. Even better is the eco switch that allows the fan to turn off completely at idle temps. It's a bit of a premium, but when you factor in the cost of buying a seperate braided cable kit it's actually cheaper than the competition and you will certainly regret having nasty looking cables down the road in a windowed build. If you're building on newer chipsets like z170 and have a gpu such as the 1070/1080/RX480 then this is more than enough wattage even for SLI!
Review: Good but expensive - Why I Purchased. I’ve been meaning to upgrade my PC for a long time and then my old Power Supply Unit (PSU) made my system unstable so I was in the market for a new one. This PSU sorted it out with no fuss and I've been using it for a full week now. I have been building PCs as a hobby for many years and I'm no stranger to installing them. This seemed easier than most to install maybe due to its fully modular design. That being said, I did dislike the 4 black mounting screws that it came with so I just reused my own. Efficiency. This 650W “EVGA SuperNOVA 650 P2” is 80+ Platinum rated which I have to take on face value as I have no way of testing it. According to an online calculator, my PC in its current configuration should draw about 305W of power under load. That will make the PSU load to be 47% (=305/650) of its maximum load. That is close to its optimum efficiency (Platinum standard is ~94% efficiency at 50% load). I also like that it needs at least 20% load just to start its cooling fan in ECO mode (a switch on the back toddles ECO on and off). Its a nice feeling that your energy efficient and that your PC produces less waste heat which reduces the need for extra case fans (more expense and noise). Other considerations. While I’m loving the PSU, I don’t love the price tag. At £100.97 I was almost put off this PSU but I’m glad I finally purchased it. For your cold hard cash it does come with some interesting extras like a storage bag for any extra wires, a little black connector for testing the unit before installation and a 10 year warranty. Its also well packaged, feels nice and well built and looks kinda cool too sitting in the bottom of your case. Maybe I'll upgrade my case next and get something with a transparent side panel to show it off. Hmm...my cable management leaves something to be desired. Perhaps not. All in all, its a good PSU albeit rather pricey. I would definitely recommend it if your budget can cover its cost.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Optimum product and fair price
*by T***K on 15 June 2019*

Optimum product, thanks to the option "eco" when it is not used at full power the noise is reduced to zero because the fan stops and works only when necessary. When the fan is operating and at full power it is still really silent. IMPORTANT: the only issue I had in assembling, when I tried my cables of my old Seasonic Platinum, I do not know why but it was not turning on. Using its cables instead works perfectly. This is the first time I must use its original cables besause they should be standard contact pins, anyway it is not an issue because its cables are good.
