Good, Simple, Reliable Product
I've used the main guillotine bed mostly for trimming street organ music stencils, and sometimes for trimming quite which card, for years now, with no troubles. The removable rotary wheel trimmer was of no use to me, but my wife uses that part in her office, often for making cards. That trimmer can also be used to cut serrations.Care has to be taken to allow about 1 millimetre for the offset of the cutting blade from the gauge, but once you do that, it can be 'eyeballed' reliably and accurately, even after thousands of cuts. This accuracy is important for my work, but as with any tool, once you learn how to use it properly, a good job can be done repeatably. One added bonus; the cutting edge is reversible, so that it can be swapped around if an edge goes blunt. So far, this has not been necessary.

Pretty good for the money
I bought this trimmer to replace a very old, very basic rotary trimmer I'd had for years. I make paper beads as a hobby so I use the trimmer mainly for cutting straight or angled strips and I chose this one because it gives me the opportunity to use the guillotine or rotary cutter according to need. After initial tests I'd say it's a good little trimmer for craft use. Both guillotine and rotary blades cut the paper cleanly, without jagged edges or feathering (I tested it on magazine pages). I had not used a guillotine cutter before but it is blissfully straightforward for cutting straight or angled strips and the blade guard keeps your fingers comfortably away from the blade, providing a good point at which to hold the paper using the paper clamp. I can see that I will mostly be using the guillotine for cutting supplies of strips ready for bead making. The rotary side is a little more tricky. Like the guillotine the rotary blade cuts cleanly. However, positioning the paper and holding it in place is more difficult, particularly when cutting (as I do) narrow strips of paper. The blade head guide rail is (mercifully) see through but the blade channel is quite wide and there is no guidance line, so lining the paper up to a precise point is not easy. The guide rail is quite flexible so it will allow the paper to slip about, particularly if you don't have much to hold on to, and when approaching the edge of a sheet accuracy is impossible - be prepared to lose the last inch or so of each sheet. It's also difficult to get narrow strips out from under the guide rail - I found myself poking a cocktail stick underneath to tease the cut strips out. It would have been useful if the guide rail was hinged and could be lifted up but I guess that's the sort of nice feature you only get on more expensive cutters. When cutting larger pieces of paper it's fine, however. The wavy line cutter is a nice feature which I will no doubt be able to incorporate into my beads. On the whole I'd say that it's a very fair trimmer for craft or light use - heavy users will want a more robustly made machine; and it's at a good price on Amazon - I have seen it elsewhere priced at over £40. At this price, however, it's not bad at all.

A cut above the rest maybe?
Impressed so far but in fairness my old trimmer had started to bludgeon its way through paper so anything would be an improvement. The guillotine works very well, appears safe to use assuming you use the paper grip properly and leaves a very clean edge. I have only used it for three sheets at one time so far but was able to trim a miniscule sliver of paper. The arm locks for safety/storage.The rotary trimmer is clever producing straight, wavy or perforated cuts. The cutting strip is reversible so you'll get twice the life out of that and one imagines therefore that it's replaceable if the parts can be obtained. The units fold for storage, clip together or separate as required and seem well made.It depends what you're looking for of course and there seem to be a variety of craft trimmers around but for basic home office and similar tasks I am very pleased with my purchase.

Throw away the scissors
Scissors disappear (daughter denies all, every time) and when they are found they can't do what this can. It is a nicely thought out piece of kit. The three different cut options on the rotary wheel - straight, perforated and wavy - are reminiscent of nights out.The guillotine works very well and the graphics allow angular cuts - haven't checked out the accuracy of the cut angles. It will make my life easier even though I'll never have to use it ( I did quite a few test cuts). My children have an art/photo habit that this just makes the 'where's the scissors' argument go away, it's too big to hide and too good not to use. Simple, well built, nice piece of kit.

Does not cut straight. Returned mine..
Its of a solid construction, the perforation cut and wavy cut are very nice .. The good news ends there though as the paper trimmer doesn't cut straight at all.Due to the rails being on a a flimsy plastic that wobbles, its very hard to get it to travel straight. Not fit for purpose. I'm returning mine, after owning for 2 hours it's went straight back.

A very versatile piece of equipment, well made and ...
A very versatile piece of equipment, well made and competitively priced. Both the Guillotine and Trimmer perform their function well and the base is accurately calibrated for standard paper sizes. An added bonus is the triple function of the Trimmer which cuts both a straight and deckled edge and also perforates cleanly if a tear-off section is required. Delivery was extremely prompt.

Generally happy with it
In general excellent solid sturdy construction. The Guillotine is *fantastic* cuts cleanly and smoothly, not all that easy to judge accurately where it will cut but fine once you're used to it.The Rotary Trimmer is kinda iffy, feels a bit cheap and floppy, there's kind of a knack to getting it to cut properly while preventing the paper from moving, but it's ok once you get the hang of it, just do some practice runs before you start or something important....

Asset to any office
Very sturdy. Like the fact that the two parts can be separated for ease of use. The guillotine section is very safe as the paper needs to be held down by the press on the side away from the blade. Have yet to use the other function. Good price and very pleasing product

Bon rapport qualité-prix
