Good concept, still a few glitches for us.
I was fortunate to try this item for free and my two children enjoyed trying it out. It is a great idea to link physical products to a virtual app although I do struggle a little to see how beneficial the rods are to the apps. The 3 apps that come as part of the product are really well animated and easy to use, the colours and pictures and concepts are very engaging to all (including adults). They can be used with or without the rods which is handy if you don't have the rods or the child is not able to use them. My 6 year old found all the games very easy and was able to link her knowledge of numbers to the rods and identify which one was which. My almost 3 year old couldn't obviously so it was better for her not to use them although she is a bit young for the games in general. The rods were well made and worked well, I was a little concerned how responsive they might be but we never had an issue. They are tactile and soft plastic texture on the outside but robust enough for little hands that can be a bit rough at times. You do need to work at a table or flat surface to get best use out of these so they are not ideal for sitting at a chair or travel. I also wonder how useful the game would be if any went missing, not sure if they are replaceable although they do come with a handy little drawstring bag. The Tiggly adventure game was best for my oldest child and I look forward to trying these with my younger child as she grows to get best use of them. The tiggly chef was most fun for both of them although a little tricky for the youngest, suited maybe for 4/5 year olds I think. We did have the odd case of the app closing during the chef game by itself so hopefully this will be fixed.

Our three year old nailed it!
My wife got this for free on the proviso that she wrote a review. She handed it to me to play with my three year old.I spent a few minutes trying to work out what to do and nearly gave up but once you twig that you place the magnets on the screen then it is easy to use. Our daughter picked it up quickly and loved it. She was cackling out loud and telling me the story about the character flying to the moon - and she figured that one character was the "daddy" and one was the "granny". If you land on the right squares you win sunglasses or a hat for the character. This is like a basic ZX spectrum platform game with better graphics! The downside was that our three year old cracked both levels in an hour and then got bored. She did pick it up again today but the game needs more levels and more challenging puzzles for a three year old. If your child is two then I guess this is perfect.I did maths at uni so I am a big fan of anything that helps kids learn numbers early. This is a bit pricey but the kids love the tablets and my wife tells me that there are more apps....I just hope that they have more levels or can keep my daughter (very) entertained for more than an hour!

Would recommend, lots of learning going on without the children realising. :-)
This was my favourite of the three Tiggly products I reviewed the children ranging from 3-7 all had great fun and learning was evident throughout as they tried to solve the problems they faced. The shapes in all all the Tiggly products are substantial and really well made and are actual a delight to hold and play with on their own and had the children working out their own games when my ipad was charging which was great as technology isn't always needed in learning however as soon as my ipad was charged again they were all keen for their turn. You get 3 games for FREE with this product which are easily downloaded from the app store which means that the children have a variety and don't get bored quickly and it kept all the children engaged and using maths. I fully recommend this product as I do think it is an excellent game and the children are learning when they don't always realise and they asked to play this game several times over the course of the week. I received this product for free to review and the only reason I have dropped a star is that I feel if you are on a tight budget that the shapes are a little expensive given that you can play the games without them all though having the shapes did make the game more fun and the children definitely preferred using them.

Excellent product - give it a try.
I was lucky enough to be able to try this product with my 3 year old for free so we could review it. This has in no way affected the review. All thoughts are my own.On first impressions the product is fantastic to look at for little ones, brightly coloured shapes, plastic and sturdy, designed for interaction with their apps. They come in a nice drawstring bag to enable you to keep them safe. Downloading the apps are easy. We played the Tiggly Chef one a lot. It is very good however there were a few blips. You have to put the correct counting rod on the tablet to correspond with the number of shapes showing on screen. It mostly worked really well but occasionally it would say it was correct, when it wasn't, and vice versa. This would happen a couple of times during each session. It didn't really take anything away from the game but it's something the developers need to look into. Also, when you've added the correct ingredients it wasn't always showing you the finished product on the plate. Sometimes it was an empty plate, which was quite confusing for my little boy. Overall though it's a great app and product. I love how sturdy and bright they are and we will definitely be trying the other apps available to use with these rods. My little boy is asking to use both these and the Tiggly Shapes daily.

Absolutely brilliant
I have boys - twin 4.5year olds and a 7 year old. I loaded up the games and had to leave them to it as it was supper time. Normally I have to sit and help before they catch on but this game and the other tiggly products and app are very easy to use. When I came back a one twin was engrossed and having such a lot of fun. Since that first go they keep getting the blocks out and exploring the different apps you can use with the blocks. It comes with a really good bag too. The maths blocks is brilliant for my boys and very educational and fun. Definitely worth purchasing. I was lucky enough to be a tester so we got this for free but I would definitely purchase and recommend.
