An Unusual dice set.
I bought this for use in RPG table tops and just as a general set of dice, so this is not from a person who personally plays Ingress. First off initial thoughts: They are delightful looking dice and the packaging was reasonably high quality as far as dice go.Delivery:-The dice were delivered quickly, a few less days than predicted for the dice to arrive for me. The packaging also came undamaged with a lightly bubble wrapped envelope. Alongside the expected parcel,an extra d6 by Q-workshop came with them, showing off some of the other styles that they sell. The 6 being a Q-workshop 10th anniversary, the 5 a steampunk style, the 4 a dragon style, the 3 elven style, the 2 celtic stlye and the 1 tech (from what I could find) style.Packaging:-The box was a 3mm card box, there is no added paper inside the box and the dice are held in a black piece of plastic 1mm thick with a 1mm thick colourless cover. The dice were easy to get out of the box and the card seemed reasonably high quality, although the dice did not come with any sort of bag to carry them in. The packaging does however seem a bit bloated, as the top half of the box is basically empty space and could potentially be gotten rid of, or used. However I did not deem this that important.Dice:-The dice are a matt black with a pea green filling, with the highest number on each die(except the d4) being the "Enlightened" symbol. Each of the numbers also come with a circular pattern with a line followed by a square. Each of these lines off increases as you increase the number, such as on a d100 there are 8 lines off for 80(the exception being the d4). The filling was thorough except for me, the 6 on the d10. However this is a single 1mm x 1mm gap and does not change the aesthetics of the dice considerably. All the other dice are completely filled, most with a smooth filling and some are a bit dipped due to a lack of paint. The surface of the dice is a glossy black which does not appear to scratch easily(I used a pin). It should also be noted that the d4 is also a pointer d4, and by that I mean the peak of the dice is the number you select, compared to some base d4s.Reception:-I bought the dice because I wanted something that wasn't too plain and was just the dotted dice or numbered dice, and these were some of the most unique dice, however I cannot speak for their partner dice set(resistance). The reaction I got from my current group was quite nice, as they mostly have quite bland and plain dice and I got a few reactions and they are not any more difficult to read whilst on the table. The only disadvantage is that the numbers are slightly smaller than on plain dice.Other Thoughts:-I do not have any qualms with these dice, however, it would have been nice if they could sell the dice individually and in Jumbo sized. As I prefer using a D20 that is jumbo sized as it makes it easier to read at first glance. Alongside this selling separately allows for you to get as many as you like of whichever. So for me when I play D&D I would like to use multiple D4's for dagger hits, but they only sell multisets of d6s and the polyset.Final Thoughts:-I am very happy with these dice and they were what I was expecting. I am giving them a 5, as 4.5 is not available, I am rounding this up, however the reasoning for 4.5 is due to the fact there were slight imperfections in the dice such as incomplete filling of the dice
