Will not work on 12AWG extension cords.
The wire connector inside this unit is stamped with 16AWG, but the description says that it will work with 12AWG. I tried it on a 12 AWG extension cord but the cord would not fit into the compression glands on each end, so I think 16AWG cords might be the maximum size. Take care though when splicing extension cords because OSHA only permits splicing extension cords of 12AWG or larger conductors.

Great Idea & Works Great
Great way to repair damaged power cord. Relatively easy to make repair, and much better than using electric tape. Note that it doesn't come with instructions but relatively intuitive to use. Only works with round cords - not flat cords.
