Fantastic mouse that cleaned up my setup while keeping the in-hand familiarity of the wired G502 HERO, shape and free spinning scroll wheel and all. Battery life is very long subject to personal usage differences of course, I plug it in when the battery indicator turns red maybe for a few hours and it's back up to full and that's maybe one a week or so with moderate to heavy usage. Wireless performance is fantastic, no issues there. The weight of the mouse is *very* light, that can either be a pro or a con: If you want something you can move effortlessly for high speed gaming performance you'll love it. If you're like me and likes a weighted sturdy mouse, and used the G502 HERO with all of the weights installed, you might not be happy. However, there are 3rd party weights you can buy here on Amazon that seamlessly integrate into the magnetic lid underneath for the dongle storage. With one of those installed it's no longer flying off of my keyboard tray and it's just as comfortable as the old version without the limits and mess of a wire.

This mouse gets an honest 4 out of 5 stars. It's incredible in many ways but falls short in just enough to mark it down. TL;DR - Performance and quality is amazing. USB C, finally. Battery is no better than the old one. The status light (battery, profile etc,) has been moved to the front between the L and R buttons that's quite hard to see at a glance and that honestly sucks. G HUB is still garbage. I've had *many* gaming mice over the years, most recently coming from a used to death G502 Lightspeed (first gen) that I loved as my favorite mouse I've ever had. I have a bit of a collection of mice for no good reason. Everything from the Corsair M65 and Harpoon and Scimitar, Razer Mambas, Taipan, Deathadders, Steel Series Rival 700 and so many more. Many comparisons will be drawn between the first generation G502 Lightspeed and this G502 Lightspeed X. Quality and Feel: This mouse vs the first generation has a similar feel in the hand but it's not quite the same. The shape and curves are close enough to feel at home but for any kind of competitive gameplay, it will take a little time to adjust. It is a physically larger mouse being slightly longer, wider while being slightly thinner as well. I do think the first gen G502 fit my large hands a bit better despite being smaller but we're creatures of adaptation and I have found myself getting used to it just fine. The materials used are very nice to hold for 8 hours a day. The textures in the plastics and rubbers are consistent and not distracting. A nice upgrade is the scroll wheel no longer rattles when moving the mouse from side to side like the old G502 which I appreciate and the whole mouse has a very good sensation of "quality" while in use and looking at it. The clicks are well defined and crisp all around the mouse. louder than the first gen but they may wear in over time. In addition, the right mouse button has more of a ping sound, a slightly lower tone and is louder than the left click (tested fresh out of box). The scroll wheel in normal operation has solid detents and not too loud. When in "Infinite Scroll" mode it's very smooth but has a sound like it's rubbing on something ever so slightly. That may be by design to give the user feedback on the speed of which you're whizzing through your twitter, documents and other web pages at the speed of light. Looks and Design: Even though looks are subjective, I think the G502 X has a newer sleeker design that looks more at place in a modern setup. The LEDs are bright and saturated, well diffused and I personally like that the "G" is no longer illuminated, opting for general ambient accents. I very much dislike the placement of the status light that shows battery and charge status. It's now between the L and R at the front of the mouse and it's very hard to catch it at a glance to tell you that the battery is running low. In 3 years of my first gen G502, I only *once* ran completely out of battery, always catching the side indicator when it's getting low. In just a few months of the X, I have ran it out of battery 3 times because I missed the status light, only catching it when I sit back down instead of when I get up. I also can't tell at a glance how charged it is without the 3 ticks that existed before so gone are the days of plugging it in till I get to say 33% to finish off the day, there's no feedback. This is a VERY frustrating regression in UX and design. This could be fixed in software by allowing the ambient lights to show low battery or charging status and really should. Performance: The wireless is still first in class having used other wireless options from Corsair and Razer. Every single time I put my palm to the mouse, it picks up with no perceptible delay in connection from a sleeping state. This is not something that can be said of other wireless solutions. Latency has been tested by 3rd parties to be as good if not better than wired. Even though the solution is the best out there, I do have the occasional issue of occasional and momentary drift due to interference. If you want the best performance, keep the receiver within line of sight and within a half a yard or meter. For the most part, you forget it's wireless. Battery is no better than the old design, even with the lights off. I actually feel that I have to charge this more often but that could be due to the aforementioned lack of feedback about the battery status. Software: G HUB is not great. I've never liked it and getting the LEDs to work in on board memory has been a total pain and that takes off a star right there. I should not have to spend 2 hours to have a profile that has lights and one that doesn't for battery savings. The lighting is buggy, requiring me to flip between two tabs sometimes to get the changes made to reflect on the mouse. I also wish this upgrade could support usability features like "Dim LEDs at X%" to extend battery while having full brightness for a while and also naturally show the battery level as it drains. Macro support is quite good and you don't need to have an account, at least.

Just like it's predecessor, this one is certainly living up to the G502 reliability, affordability, and quality. It's reasonable priced for an upgrade. I never thought I'd invest in a wireless gaming mouse, but this one has certainly defied my expectations. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have opted for it, but the wired one had no RGB and I RGB vomit everything, so I returned it lol. Well played Logitech 😑 The RGB is very easy to set up and had a lot of options for customizing. The battery life lasts for several days at a time with it always being on w/ RGB and likely longer if I turned it off after each use. If you're tied to the cord, you can simply plug it in when gaming and unplug for everything else. If the charging pad was an option as a full desk-mat, I would have opted for it, but I don't want to put it on top of my current Razer RGB desk-mat. It feels a little less robust in comparison to the G502 Hero in terms of weight (likely due to the absence of a battery and optional weights) and external materials. I did miss the metal scroll wheel, braided wire (this one is rubber, but I'm rarely using it anyways) and the option for weights, but I've long forgotten them after a couple of months of use. It is fairly light though, if that's a big deterrent for you. Otherwise, if you are looking to wireless upgrade, I couldn't recommend this one enough! If you'd prefer wired and don't care for RGB, get the other one for less and same specs. Title says it all. I bought 2 of these, figuring I could sync profiles between my desktop and laptop gaming systems. The mouse is mechanically well built, but there are plenty of mice that are mechanically just as good. If you're buying a gaming mouse with all the extra buttons, then you probably play more than one video game... which requires software to change the "profile" or button functions for each different game... and that's where this mouse falls apart. The G-hub software seems designed to do everything Except what you want to do: -You want to change button functions? By Yourself? Gosh, even if you do figure out the interface and psychically intuit that the keys have to be drag/dropped onto the buttons to change them, they still won't change. I mean, why would you need to? We scanned all software on your hard drive and sent the list to our marketing dept, and they auto-set profiles that work great! They promise! -You want to unlock the profile so you can change the button settings? Aw, too bad choom. It's locked because, um, we felt it was necessary to lock the buttons for some reason. Like you might accidentally open this software and accidentally drag/drop functions you didn't really mean to change. Best to leave it locked, for your own good. -You want to change profiles? Oh, sure you can do that. Until you navigate away from G-hub and then it "helps" by auto-changing the profile back to Default! No worries, our marketing team has your back. I mean, they are gaming experts! You should SEE their score on Candy Crush! -You still want to change profiles? Why? I mean, we auto-detect the application for you! Spent a lot of money on that, choom. Why you wanna mess that up? -Want to sync your gaming profiles across two computers? Yeah, we know you tied your G-hub software to your logitech account and thanks so much for that data pipe from your computer to the cloud, but really, our marketing department NEEDS that so they can gather data from your system. You know, to uh... track performance and issues and stuff. We're afraid there just isn't the bandwidth to move your settings to the cloud and over to a whole other device. Sorries, but like we said, our software auto-detects and auto-sets the prefect settinz 4 U! We are soo accurat, and xcelnt qualitee! Promize! So the G-hub software is crap designed by idiots, but don't listen to me. I only have a BA in Computer Science and 24 years experience working in IT, and played video games since Dungeons of Daggorath on the TRS-80. But be my guest and google "Manual for G HUB?" for yourself. Do yourself a favor - buy 3 mice for this price and throw the two worst ones away. You will STILL be money ahead, and have a way better experience. At least until Logitech hires an actual software interface designer.

I got this when it was on sale and boy oh boy I LOVE using this mouse for playing games! Very accurate, no lags whatsoever, easy to configure using the desktop app of Logitech. The rgb lights are just perfect adding accent to the mouse’s design - I hate too much lights in the mouse as if it becomes like a christmas light. It has on and off switch but it does go auto sleep if you left it on so another plus to that feature! Charging takes a bit but faster than other wireless mouse. Battery life is great (would last for more than a week playing games a couple hours a day) I have big hands and mouse felt nicely (not too small and not big either) Only comment I will add is that I don’t think it was worth the full price but if you see it go on sale for like 25% or more, heck yeah add to cart and checkout right away!!!

Accurate nice size for a palm grip especially for bigger hands, notice the button under the scroll wheel to switch the wheel's rigidity. The infinite scroll thing is a gimmick. Overall great mouse for gaming or productivity, I wish it had a bluetooth + wireless dongle option.
