Review: Best blades so far. - I've only used the 11.5tpi blade so far in my Record Power SS16V scroll saw to cut out shapes in spalted sycamore. It was much easier to follow the line with less blade drift than with other blades I've tried. The cut surface finish was incredibly smooth even with the coarsest of the 3 grades in the pack. I'll be using either the 12.5 or 20 tpi blades in my vintage jeweller's saw to do inlays and other fine work. I also like that I can keep the blades in their original pack, making it much easier to choose the right one for the job while protecting them from damage. I think I'll be sticking to Olson blades from now on.
Review: As described and good price - Pleased with the results ,as a new comer to scroll saw I see improving results.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are these pin end or pin less ?**
A: The ends are NOT pinned; these blades are pinless.

**Q: will this fit deWalt 788?**
A: Any plain end 5" blade will fit the deWalt 788 machine..

**Q: Do these fit the wen scroll saw?**
A: I have a wen, and they fit!

**Q: Do they cut 1/4" aluminum?**
A: Well, it is confusing, isn't it? At least to me since the info seems inconsistent or puzzling. The package says #2 and #5 can cut "thin metal." 1/4" is not what I would call "thin." But you should be fine with 1/4" aluminum. Why? When cutting metal, at least with a fret saw which is what one should use for that, you want to have 3 teeth touching the metal at all times during the cut, since fret saw blades are 1-direction only, and if you don't get enough teeth involved, the "point" (cutting edge), which is very steep and if the blade drops so that the tooth meets the metal full on, it "hangs" badly. The edge of the metal hits a near-vertical angled tooth. The same physics should apply with any other blade/tooth pattern. BUT, if the blade tooth is symmetrical (unlike a fret saw) the cutting edge's slope might be gentle enough to be more manageable since the tooth would fall on a less-abrupt/steep tooth edge. I can't see the profile very well on the "close up" view provided but they don't especially look symmetrical (?). So, then, what's confusing? it's that blades 2 and 5 do allow, for a 1/4" thick piece (cut length), 3 teeth on the cut at all times (20 tpi => 5 on the cut, and 12.5 gives you 3.125, but 7, the one they don't say can is under, at 2.875. So 7 should be a problem for metal less than 1/4" thick if the teeth are not symmetrical. So unless by "thin" they mean ≥1/4" which is hard to believe, I actually have no idea what they are talking about, since you could with 2 & 5 cut any metal that is 1/4" thick. Maybe you should contact the manufacturer who should know and maybe does... But I wonder who provided those specs on the pkg, so who knows? Actually, if you are going to cut very much metal I recommend using a fret saw which is made specifically for that. You could also look at a "hack" saw which cuts most metal of most thicknesses, but nowhere nearly as precisely as a fret saw and with much more waste (gold "waste" is something you want to avoid). You can get a fret saw that is usable for maybe 15 dollars (olson brand) or you can spend over $200 Knew Concepts which will cut almost anything as some blades are 90 TPI with a kerf around .006"

If you contact them and they you give useful info, could you update your post so everyone can understand (even me).

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality. Typical Olson

Nice set of blades , typical good quality from Olson . Nice touch is the back cardboard tabs which allow you to take just one blade out of the packet and leave the rest in without destroying the box
