This is where it starts getting good
Sonic Saga #3 is good for many reasons. It has great art, great humour, theres emotion, and great action scenes. The story starts with Antoine and Bunnie FINALLY getting engaged, pushing forward a romance plot that began WAAAAY back in issue 46, and the Freedom Fighters capturing Mammoth Mogul, Naugus, Nack, Bean and Bark, followed by the wedding, a chapter which shows how the group have matured since the start of the comic. And then stuff hits the metaphorical fan.The main bulk of the story centers around the Destruction of Knothole, Eggman using his Egg Fleet (yes, that Egg Fleet from Sonic Heroes) to obliterate the town and capture all of its inhabitants so he can use their life essence as fuel for his city. This book also marks the first thing in Sonic history; Sonic genuinely loses. Big time. It's a very good battle sequence, and the art is superb. The rest of the book deals with how Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Nicole fight back, while also build the tensions that will erupt in Sonic Saga #4The only downside is that the Eggman Empire story is only three issues long, something to do with SEGA saying Eggman can't win for X amount of time, so the fight back feels rushed compared to what happened before it. Other than that, perfect.

A Union and a Destined Battle!
The third issue of Sonic Saga Series is just awesome, once again the talents of Flynn, Yardley and Amash are not wasted in this epic book.Chapter 1 first brings us a few short stories; first is the two-parter called 'See Ya Later, Chao'. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles visit a new Chao Garden, but during their visit Dr. Eggman (Robotnik) shows up and attacks our heroes. Then in 'Round Up', as soon as Antoine proposed to Bunnie to marry her, the Freedom Fighters are called out on a stake out mission as Rogue the Bat manages to trick Ixis Naugus and Mammoth Mogul into thinking she has the Master Emerald for the duo, but the Freedom Fighters wind up defeating them and returning them to Knothole, along with Fang/Nack, Bark and Bean.Chapter 2 is a regular length story entitled 'Union', Antoine finally ties the knot with Bunnie and the whole group of Freedom Fighters attends the ceremony, everyone that is except Espio the Chameleon of whom had infiltrated Eggman's base and discovers his horrifying invasion plot and what he plans to do with the captured Freedom Fighters.Chapter 3 is entitled 'Eggman Empire' (Hence the name of the book) the Freedom Fighters don't have much time to relax after the wedding, as Eggman makes his move and attacks Knothole village, completely destroying it and the Freedom Fighters headquarters, capturing most of them and Sonic seems completely helpless to defend himself against Eggman's latest battle suit. But regardless of what has happened, Sonic is determined to get his captured friends back.Chapter 4 is both a regular and a two-part short story. First in 'Cracking The Empire', Sonic and the few Freedom Fighters who are left Tails, Knuckles and Amy Rose, along with their computer ally N.I.C.O.L.E. head out to free their captive friends of whom are imprisoned in Eggman's egg grapes. Poor Charmy Bee almost bit the dust, but was rescued in time, along with the others and does N.I.C.O.L.E. have a plan to get everyone to a new safe haven away from Eggman? Read to find out. ;)After that is the short story 'Sonic Rush', where Blaze the Cat has her first encounter with Sonic. I assume this is loosely based on the Nintendo DS game of the same name.Plus there's profile pages on New Mobotropolis and Dr. Ivo 'Eggman' Robotnik.Bottom line is this book has a LOT from start to finish and the artwork for the main story is absolutely gorgeous and really brings out the emotions o these characters. Highly recommended for Sonic the Hedgehog fans out there.

The beginning of the end... And then beginning again.
An awesome issue! A shocking collection of issues detailing Eggmans near victory over Sonic... Too bad he was way too overconfident!

Great Intro to Graphic Novels for Kids
My 5 and 6 year olds love this whole series. The story has nuance, but is still easy for them to follow.
