The only belt that does the job properly
I keep buying used Thorens decks and trying them with after market belts...I then buy a genuine belt two weeks later and wish I had just spent the extra in the first place. Impeccable performance; nothing else works remotely as well.

Helping bring an old Thorens back to life
I recently acquired a vintage Thorens TD150 turntable made in the 1960s.It was sounding good but I noticed that it was taking an age to get to speed. A check on its speed when it settled was 34 rpm, about 2% too fast. It's close enough and sounded good but ordered this belt in any case.It was when I played a single at 45 rpm that I realised that a new belt was as necessity. It played at 33.4 rpm! Ironically it was closer to the ideal speed for long play records. After a bit of internet research I opted for a Thorens own part. Hopefully it won't ever need to be replaced while I own this turntable.I am pleased to say that the issues raised have all been addressed. I starts more quickly, when settled at plays at 33.7 rpm and it plays 45 rpm records at 45.1 rpm.I am happy. It was also delivered very quickly.

Good belt, packaging could be better
I was slightly disappointed that the belt arrived loose in a padded bag rather than in a manufacturers bag with official label, as shown in the pictures, but the belt was still stamped Thorens and seems to do the job very well.

Genuine Thorens part.
Took longer to arrive than estimated, the supplier was awaiting stock to arrive. Although the Amazon displayed they were in stock?Belt is expensive but a genuine Thorens part and fits my TD166 MkV perfectly. Worth the wait.

Hi-Fi Restored!
Original and the best! Had other so called equivalents and none lasted long before stretching. My last one was a Thakker belt which is supposed to be as near original but even that has stretched by comparison with this original Thorens one - by over an inch incredibly! All the slippage that caused the speed change problems and slow start up problems have now been cured by simply replacing the belt with this one. A fair bit cheaper than replacing with a new turntable! If you have a Thorens turntable and you're having similar problems get one of these and your problems may well be solved! Highly Recommended! Cannot praise enough.

Just what I needed
I bought this for my Thorens TD 316 turntable. It is a good price, a genuine item and arrived quickly. It would be good to get advice on how to replace a stylus/cartridge for the same but this is a good start.

Genuine Thorens Belt.
I noticed that my TD 160 slowed noticely when using it with my Dust Bug and seemed to take longer to run up to speed. I decided to find a new belt for the drive, it was the original belt. I searched on Amazon but could only find Bartletts who supplied a Thorens Belt. It costs more, but a proper belt is better than some piece of rubber belt, which other suppliers seemed to be offering. On receipt the new belt was more than 1 inch shorter than the old one, measured loop to loop, so hence the problem. A check to centre the belt onto the bottom pulley and the turntable was like new again.

Worth it.
I can't believe I paid so much for such a small thing. However, I have used "compatibles" before and, unfortunately, only the genuine product does the business. Therefore worth it.
