    Raised my headache

*by A***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 August 2018*

Bought last april lot of ptsaying risers. A great pity because stored then few weeks while I was waiting for another hardware pieces to assemble mining rigs (so missed warranty / devolution time). When opened the first ones (had to inform that they were stored in a safe place togheter with computer equipment: I'm writing this before answering me that was storage conditions the cause of problems) noticed every 1 or 2 in six had dirty like battery leakage (as foto showns) and smelled like battery leakage (looks like and smells like: What is it ?). Obvisusly I never used the 'leaked' (litteraly: Scared with that). The rest of them were installed into 3 mining rigs. All the risers were powered with no conversors or adapters (like sata-->pcie): Connected through PciE cable to HP server power supply (like this one: https://picclick.com/1200W-HP-server-PSU-Breakout-Board-and-202245871605.html, for example). After few weeks had several random freezing and instability with about 50% of the graphic cards. But always randomly (I mean not the same cards were "freezing").After several tests and big headache, I decided to replace those risers by new ones (and obviously from another manufacturer). After replacing my rigs never freezed anymore. Testes included replacement of all power set (breakout board, pcie cables even the PSU!), changed Operating system (tried with windows, CentOS and even HiveOS, all of them with random failures).Don't even try to blame myself or the hardware for the failure: I'm IT Professional and know what I'm doing. After replacing the risers rigs came back to full stability and had no more issues.Never more will buy from this manufacturer. Waisted my time, caused several hours in troubleshooting actions for nothing and lot of lost time. 'The cheaper is the expensiver'.At least recovered some xilings selling the risers to recycle... Does amazon have a 0 star ? I'm very frustrated because the minimal rate is 1 star and this ptsaying product worths 0.PS: Bought 9S pcie risers from another manufacturer (and very more expensive about 1.7 times) worked fine and my rigs are stable ('The expensiver is cheaper'). Got very angry due to email received from ptsaying asking me if I'm interested in buying more garbage, sorry, mean risers...

They barely do the job for which they are intended ...

They barely do the job for which they are intended. I have had lots of power variation, lots of errors. I eventually gave up with these risers after eliminating everything else as being the cause. They are a very loose fit in the motherboards which does not help the stability. They do the job to a fashion but not of a standard i would expect. I have had to spend another £120 on replacements, which have now made the system stable and are regulating the voltage and watts correctly, without continuous crashes.I wish I had determined that these were the root cause of all the rig problems sooner, as they are outside the return period and they are now only fit for disposing of.

Great build quality and love the LED power indicator

*by H***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 April 2018*

Bought two lots of this item for a mining rig. You get a total of 6 risers and they each come in their own individual packets. The USB cable length is just over 500mm and seems pretty durable. The main thing which I love about the risers is that these have an LED indicator to let you know the power state of the card. Perfect for if you are diagnosing a problem with your rig.The PCI-E board has a foam bottom which allows you to rest the cards on a surface. One thing I have noticed is that if you do no fully support the PCI-E board across the full length, the foam will start to un-stick and droop. I can only assume this is down to the heat softening the glue.Overall, top quality product for a reasonable price.
