Assembly was easy enough once I stopped refering to the instructions!But this seems to be a budget version of my old K5, which recently packed up. I'm probably on my 5th Karcher machine now, they never last more than 3 or 4 years. The main difference is that it doesn't have a reel on the back to pull in the hose. So, the hose just gets kinked when you try and pull it back through the machine to reel it up manually. I said a few choice words as the hose wrapped itself around the machine and me and I couldn't get it to unravel after that without kinking.Not very happy, but I suppose I'm stuck with it until it breaks in 3 to 4 year's time, sooner if I'm lucky. Then I might look for a different brand.

This Karcher pressure washer required assembly, after which the use is simple.Be careful whilst attaching the nozzle to the high pressure hose... There are two nozzles in the box, one variable and one full pressure, and once attached I'm not sure they can be switched (I can't see how to detach one once fitted).I also found it a bit tricky to get one of the wheels to locate properly before fitting the securing screw, but a little persuasion resolved that issue.All in all I'm happy with my purchase.

Okay, so from the offset it’s worth mentioning that I’ve been using Karchers for the last 15 odd years.. I’ve seen the change this company has undergone. From cornering the market by producing long lasting, high quality pressure washers.. to the current days low quality unreliable plastic scrap.This is now the 4th K5 I’ve had in the last 3 years.. and guess what, this one is faulty and going back as well!!My first Karcher lasted 11 years and when it finally passed away, I had gotten more than my monies worth out of it. I was so impressed with Karcher I went ahead and got the best model I could find: which was the K5 of 2017-18. Since then it’s been a never ending cycle of spare parts, sending back for exchanges etc etc. The one before this purchase lasted about 12 months with me only buying a new lance hose. Then about 2 weeks ago the motor stopped turning over. So I got a new one from Amazon. Differences noticed in this most recent release are mostly minimal aesthetic changes, but importantly the lance has also changed from the one thick lance that you could swivel to whatever pressure or flow you wanted.. to now there’s 2 lances included, both skinny and very flimsy. They don’t exactly come across as sturdy or long lasting.Anyway I constructed the new K5 last night, with the intention of washing my car today. All set up with a new hose to boot.Come this morning I turned it on and it worked brilliantly. Very high water pressure which was reminiscent of my last unit when I first got it. The difference between this and what my last unit had been pushing out the last few months is startling.Anyway 6-8 minutes of rinsing my car down, and then suddenly the unit stops. As if the power has cut. I trace all wires and hoses. No issues. Suddenly after 3-4 minutes the motor whirls again, and we’re back in business. Or so I thought. 6-8 minutes later it cut out again.This was then the pattern that followed for the next 3 hours of washing my car! Another unit which slipped through quality control.I called the Amazon helpline. After being hold for 5 minutes (whilst they googled) I was told that this is intentional. The unit cuts out after 5 minutes of continuous use to allow the motor to cool down. Surely this can’t be right?? They’re going to contact Karcher on Monday to confirm, and then if confirmed the unit will go back where it came from.

It a little more difficult to assemble. Easier to use though.

I was a bit worried that this would not be powerful enough to clean my patio, it had not been cleaned for 5 years , it's been down for 15 years and looked a mess , .this jet washer was easy to assemble , and when I started it just blew away the dirt , the patio came up really good, showed the original coulors of the stone , very pleased with this purchase

This is a very powerful washer cleaned our drive and patio to a high standard. So far we have only assembled the wheels and hoses. The rest will wait until we find someone with a degree in quantum mechanics. Diagrams only for assembly. Written instructions would be appreciated. Even our local garden maintence man gave up.
