What is in them and what will they supply my plants with?** A: Having looked at websites and peoples views on Aquatic forums, they provide all 3 macronutrients (nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium) as well as all the required micronutrients (such as magnesium, zinc, iron etc) they don't dirty the tank and help provide nutrient uptake from the roots of plants that aren't so good at absorbing from the water. The tub itself doesn't tell you what's in there. I think they work great and are easy to break in half if needed and bury in gravel/sand. **Q: Few questions, how long do they last and do we just put them near the plants or do we have to wrap the roots around them?** A: Just stick it in your substrate and stick your plants within a few a couple of inches of it and your fine, I put new ones in every 3 to 4 months. There are clear and easy instructions on the tub, I found this stuff to be really good **Q: Do you use this on top of liquid ferts or instead?** A: You have to use both. Liquids fed the leafs and tabs fed the roots.
