Kobunboku is a gorgeously scented incense made from 15 different plant extracts. It is refreshing and aids concentration, making it particularly helpful for meditation practice and relaxation. The Japanese word "Ko" means Nice, "Bun" means Elegant, and "Boku" means Wood or Tree. Kobunboku is an expression of the Plum Tree, and has a sweet smell reminiscent of plum blossoms. Made by Baieido of Japan to a traditional formula, it includes extracts of Agarwood, Sandalwood, Borneo Camphor and Cinnamon. Baieido has dedicated itself to making incense over the last 300 years, the method and recipes having been handed down from generation to generation in an unbroken secret oral tradition. Box contains approx. 25 sticks, each 13cm long.

This is lovely and it's still growing on me. It's a very delicate woody but floral scent. And I'd say its a really great everyday incense to lift the atmosphere of a room. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. And I'll probably reorder but a bigger box. It's great.

Nice smell
The smell is very nice, it reminds me the temples in Japan.

Sickly.
To my nose these smell sort of muffled, powdery sandlewoody sweet, too sweet and sickly, remeniscent of the smell often found in oriental supermarkets. I prefer the Nippon Kodo incenses.

Not for me..
Great service from Vectis Karma, but this scent really isn't for me.Quite a deep smokiness to the aroma, and a subtle spiciness. It reminded me of resin. Not especially sweet.Nowhere near as aromatic or pleasant as Tokusen Kobunboku.This scent might be for you but definitely not for me.

Smoky fragrance
Smells mostly of smoke. I fail to detect any sweetness or floral fragrance of any sort - plum blossom or otherwise. Writing on the box is all japanese so I've no way of determining whether I've received the correct fragrance. Other brands include a holder but these don't - which wouldn't bother me if they smelled nice. Won't be buying this particular brand again.

Rich
This is brilliant, rich and lovely incense without being over cloying and choking. I use it for zazen. It drifts through the room gently touching the edges of the meditation.
