We have the usual contrary pussy kins!!! Most toys are sniffed and rejected in favour of an old piece of Christmas ribbon or a cardboard box! Each new toy I order I play with MYSELF with excitement whilst being stared at in a bemused ....'humans are bonkers' type of look! BUT ....at last......I had hardly pulled the toggle to start the sound and she was off.....jumping of chairs and skidding on floors! She has played non stop for nearly 2 hours ....and when I hang it off the chair to actually go and earn money to buy the lady of the house nice food and toys she set about 'killing it' herself. The mouse actually tweets like a bird and stops and starts with movement so endless fun as you can make it silent so proper 'stalking ' can take place!! Better still I can jiggle it around whilst sitting othe sofa. EXCELLENT. Just ordering two more!!! Well worthy he money after all the mechanical toys I have brought this is FAR the best play EVER! Genius!

My cat's favourite toy - not sure why, but it's on the only fishing wand style toy she goes nuts for. I'd say I like it only, as the cat manages to shred these on a regular basis (and I have to keep buying her new ones). It also makes an annoying squeaking sound, but thankfully that stops working after a bit.

I bought this toy approximately two months ago now. My cat has recently been spending more time indoors, so I bought this to help keep him active.[Usage]The string is extremely elastic and has so far fared very well against my cat's attempts to destroy it. The mouse itself is squeaky and extremely sensitive in that regards. The squeakiness of the mouse makes my cat go absolutely crazy for it as he will happily run around the room to catch it all day. Even after two months may cat has yet to get bored with it.The only downside I have with this is that the feathers on the end of the mouse were destroyed almost immediately, with only one now remaining.Overall I'm extremely happy with this purchase and will happily buy another once my cat eventually destroys it (with my monster it's almost guaranteed).[Positives]+ Cat goes crazy for it.+ The elastic is extremely durable.+ The mouse is amazingly squeaky.+ After two months the body of the mouse is still intact.[Negatives]+ Most of the feathers were easily torn off by my cat.

Even while I was unwrapping the mouse my cat was getting excited at the squeaky noises it made. The toy is a hybrid bird/mouse as it has a feathery tail which is all to the good as my cat loves feathers. So far, she has given it a good kicking with her back legs, (to disembowel!), bitten it ,torn at it and it is still good as new. The feathers will probably come away at some point (surely?), but the mouse-bird itself is extremely durable and still chirrups away.Very pleased with this product and it is priced very reasonably.

To give a fair review I feel I should start by saying that my kitten did just manage to delete the previous attempt at leaving one. This might give you an idea of my kitten's nature. However, at four months old, without any of his adult teeth it is slightly disappointing that he had managed to remove the squeaker from the toy with almost surgeon like accuracy within a day of us receiving it.Initially it was loved , it was played with, it seemed a great success, but this was yesterday, the day we received it. Today, the morning after, it is now in two pieces after a few minutes into our early morning "I love you kitten but, please, go back to sleep" play session. He loves toys that make noises so finding a fishing pole one was great and had it even lasted a week I would have considered buying another as it was definitely enjoyed in the time it survived. Less than a full day of survival in our house would lead to an expensive squeaky mouse on string habit though. Perhaps for the less boisterous kitten or cat this would be fabulous, but sadly it only just, if at all, managed to deliver the 'hours of fun' promised on the packaging. The mouse itself is fine ( aside from the hole in the bottom of ours where the squeaker once lived) and the squeaker, perhaps is realistic of mice but as I have not spent a great deal of time listening to mice I could not verify this personally. it's just squeaky.I've noticed varying reviews for this so perhaps there is just bad batch syndrome or something and others may last for days, weeks or months. Sadly I didn't find this to be the case in this incidence

Originally bought one of these toys without the wand and cord attached. Our cat was instantly attracted to the noise it made but soon realized it wasn't real and lost interest in it when it didn't run around. I was curious to see if being able to chase the mouse would make a difference so bought one of these. Unfortunately this wasn't a very successful idea either. The cord is far too short to run the mouse along the floor without my having to bend down (and no one could describe me as tall).Having said that this toy got a slightly more enthusiastic reception than the cordless mouse and the basic idea is a good one. A longer cord might have made it more engaging. Perhaps the manufacturer should consider a re-design. Not overly expensive so not a total waste of money but I don't think this merits more than 3 stars as it is.

I've ordered this twice. First one worked just fine. Cat loved it.Last time I ordered the item was defective and would not stop squeeking constantly after you pulled out the plastic tab. So maddening I had to throw it out. It's probably still squeeking on the way to the dump right now.Not worth the bother of having to package and go to the Post Office to return. Imagine how awkward that would be trying to ship a non-stop annoying noise machine?Just writing this review I've wasted more time than the thing is worth. Two stars just because the first one actually work.You got a 50% chance that its not crap.UPDATE: I made the mistake of ordering a third one of these, and it doesn't make any noise at all. So that's 2 out of 3 that are basically useless. Don't order this and waste your time.
