5 Star Quality For Cloud 9 Sleeping.
I will try to keep this review simple so I have written it in two parts. The first the basic questions I would want to know. The second my own thoughts and experiences. The questions that I would want to know before buying this mat are. Is it comfortable?I can honestly say it is far better than my much larger and bulkier kip mat.Is it large enough for an adult?Yes I'm 6'1” tall and my legs and feet were on the mat,(Remember most folks use clothes and stuff for a pillow so you can deduct the length of your head from the areYes the plastic is tough and you get a couple of repair patches too. That is basically all you need to know but if you want to know a little more read on....It the good old bad old days when I would go back packing and rough trekking you had to carry everything you needed. Weight and size was king. Most 'savvy' people knew that the insulation underneath you was just as important as that above.'Kipmats' came out and the problem of insulation- weight- comfort was solved.Believe me prior to that type of mat you froze and felt every, pebble, twig or whatever beneath you.A friend of mine had a new at the time self inflating mat which although short at about 4 foot and was heavier than a kip mat he reckoned the extra comfort merited the extra weight .(And this was a time when we would drill holes in toothbrushes handles to reduce weight to the minimum.)I tried his mat just the once and it was like sleeping on air,This mat, many years down the road is the equivalent of that superior mat.It is not cheap but it is robust and tough and will outlast many of the others on the market. The great thing is that they have got the weight, insulation, size and comfort equation just about as near perfect as you can.The pack comes with a useful carabiner style hook which doubles up as a bottle opener.Out of the sack it takes about 10 good puffs to blow it up (the makers claim as little as 8 but I am older and wiser) . The valve, thank goodness is one of those one way only so your breath is not wasted.Secure the seals and there you have it simple. You will be sleeping on air.Now the drawback with these things is packing them away.Often you find it is near impossible to fold them down to the size to fit in the bag.A couple of tips.Always check TWICE the surface you place your mat on.Any stones or sharp twigs could puncture the mat. Check twice and you will ensure you look after your mat and it in turn will look after you.Likewise for folding it away.Take the seals out place on the double checked area for stones and sharp objects and kneel on the mat as you fold. It is a knack but easy to achieve. If are daft enough to puncture it and believe me it would take some effort or sheer carelessness to do you get a couple of repair patches included. But as I always say 'prevention is better than a cure', check and recheck the surfaces. The carabiner allows you to hang it off your pack or crush it into you pack.me.|so there you have it.A really well made, robust and comfortable sleeping mat.Happy trails and thanks for reading.

A 6ft man would easily fit on it
I purchased this as I have to babysit my grandchildren two days a week, which includes overnight stops.Unfortunately they are still in small bed's so I have to sleep on the sofa..I read the reviews and this is exactly as described...It is really compact, took 29 blows to inflate.. A 6ft man would easily fit on it.. I slightly inflated it, as I didn't need it for outside use.. Rolled up back into bag 1st attempt, really easy Good night's sleep.. Instead of the lumpy sofa.. I'm 56yr old lady..

Great pad
Light, robust & very compact.I'll be using mine both for ground sleeping as well as hammock camping. Please note:I wrote to the seller in error thinking there were no patches but the instructions are actually written on the patches themselves. So don't be caught out like I was. It's a good idea :)

This mat was great. Very comfortable and kept me warm all night
Used this mat in October when the night temperature fell to 3 degrees. This mat was great. Very comfortable and kept me warm all night. Easy to inflate and deflate and also to repack. Does a perfect job.

So far quite impressive
We haven't used it yet for camping but were pretty impressed by the product when we got it.It is really convenient to use, took us 10 blows to inflate, with the valve really holding in the air in.Deflating was instantaneous, no waiting for it and trying to squeeze out the air.We were surprised by the size, it is bigger than the usual camping pad, though folds up tiny and hassle-free.It is also more comfortable than the pads we have been using before. The material is thin but feels sturdy, so I'm curious how sensitive it is to punctures. It looks very promising for our upcoming trip. Will update if there are any surprises.

Looks the part/
This mat certaimly looks the part, small compact size and comfortable to sleep on. However on only the third time using it , the mat will not stay up. I would not recommend this mat.

Practucal but wished for thucker
It folds down well, it inflates very quickly but needed at least double the thickness as not used to sleeping on the stone floor

Bivouacking in Uganda
I bought this for my friend, as he has been using it in Uganda and East Africa. It did not come with a puncture repair kit, just a couple of pieces of backing. So I think there must have been some mistake.Otherwise he is very happy with it.It has developed a small leak, but it is not a problem at present
