I've got 2 Astra 19.2 LNBs and 4 Astra 28.2 LNBs coming from two separate Sky mini-dishes and feeding into computer tuners. Aim was to reduce computer/expansion slot requirements. All the LNB outputs now come together in the loft, then two of them from each dish join through these units making only 4 feeds in total to computer. I already had a mix of DVBSky and TBS cards. I've found the latter seem to misbehave with MediaPortal and basic Diseqc switching, but the DVBSky cards work perfectly. So, given well made connections and quality wiring, these DiSEqc switches appear to work well with compatible equipment. Even over surprisingly long cable runs, which I had been dubious about. I had to work with a previous Sky installation organised by a previous owner, cables coming half way round the house then into the wrong room (for my purposes). Rather than disturbing that, I extended the cable run from there up through the cavity two levels into the loft, then into the DisEqc switches, then back down again two levels to the right room. It still worked! Review: Works well. - A simple and easily connected means of running two lnb units with a single input satellite receiver. Works fine with my old Golden Interstar receiver. You need to set up the switching action within the menu system of the receiver. This may be different to my own unit. As the unit is outside it`s a good idea to wrap the F-connectors in self-amalgamating tape and even cover the whole thing with a plastic bag to keep the rain out. It`s working fine using Astra satellites at 19.2 and 28.2 degrees East. If so, how and can two different channels be viewed simultaneously?** A: Not as far as I know - I have 2 dishes using 3 LNBs (to receive the signals from 3 satellites) - the receiver can select any one channel on any one of the 3 LNBs. As I understand it (and as I have set it up on my system), to watch a different channel simultaneously on another receiver, you need two of these, fed from a second outlet from each LNB (use duo or quad LNBs) **Q: I have a tv connected with main and sub wires, can I use this switch and keep using both? I have two satellite dishes. One 28° the other 19° so I can receive French channels. This Diseqc switch simply flicks between the two when changing channel, according to what dish the TV wants. You have one motorised dish, a Freesat box, and a Diseqc fta receiver. The motorised dish can only be controlled by the Diseqc receiver. Now you could get a one in two out but it won’t really do much, although depending on your requirements... If you want to use both boxes at the same time this won’t work. The solution would be to get another Freesat dish and just connect to your Freesat receiver separately. However... If you’re not using both at the same time then a simple one in (From the dish) two out signal splitter (to each box) will work - but for the Freesat box to work the Diseqc receiver will also have to be tuned to a channel on the 28° Sat so it points in the right direction for Freesat. You could switch off the fta box then, leaving just Freesat working happily! Hope this helps. **Q: I want to use 2x 'quad lnbs' for asta/hotbird to connect to 4 (independent) receivers/tvs. what disecq set up do i use?** A: 1) Firstly you need 4 receivers that are capable of "switching" between Astra and Hotbird.2) You need to purchase 4off - Technomate TM-2S 2 x 1 Ready Sat. DiSEqC switches.3) Connect the centre TM-2S connection to each of the 4 receivers.
