I used toilet tissue to keep the solution on the stains without drying out, and left it for several hours. The stains were greatly reduced, and a second treatment removed them entirely. For extensive stains you need a lot more than this small bottle. But it does work, if you're patient and arrange for it to have plenty of time to work without drying out.
