Mally Beauty Evercolor Poreless Face Defender - Primer or Setting Powder - Long-Lasting Matte Finish - Face Defender Translucent - Travel Size 0.07 Oz

I was a loyal user of Murad's Matteffect compact. Then they discontinued it and I cried. I live in a hot climate with combination, very sensitive skin. I was in desperate need of a blotting/mattifying product that worked well because my makeup would literally melt off of me most days. I saw an add for this product and thought it was being hyped up to the point of 'Too good to be true'. I was wrong. This product is EXACTLY as good as they say it is. It's weightless, invisible, and leaves no shine behind. Just a few gentle pats of the sponge against the compact and then dabbing lightly on the skin. No need to dig or try to get a lot of product. You can't even really tell its on the sponge until you apply it. But wow. It leaves a nice finish that is slightly satin in appearance. I have used it as a primer and as a setting powder. The only drawback I've found is that when I use it as a setting powder, the sponge picks up some of my makeup. That leaves a dirty sponge and unfortunately, makeup transfers into the compact. I have been using it as a primer (after my treatments and moisturizer) and it keeps me looking oil free almost all day. The really hot days, like 110° days, I had to touch it up at around 6pm. I have noticed no changes in my akin, and though most things clog my pores, this does not. I cannot say enough about this product. It really is amazing.

I came across this neat little gem when it popped up on my Amazon recommendations. I was curious and read that it replaces powder and keeps your face looking poreless and matte. Since I have “mature” skin and powder tends to make me look like I I haven’t had a drink of water in weeks I thought, let’s give this baby a try! Cuz I still get a shiny Tzone that does not look flattering by any means. This product comes with a firm little white sponge and the product itself is in a compact and looks kinda like that purple stick glue. After I had finished applying my makeup, I bounced this little sponge onto the purpley product and then dabbed it onto my TZone. Immediately a blurred and matte TZone with no purple residue. And I didn’t look like a dried out husk either. Impressive. I had to go run errands in the scorching California heat in August and when I got home and happened to look in the mirror, I was very pleased that I still had a soft matte TZone with no shine breakthrough! A little bit goes a long way and remember to dab it onto your skin, not rub it in. Works wonders! Really happy I tried this product!

I'm a 52y/o woman with the usual skin concerns as women's age... Patchy, dry skin, t-zone oily, & my pores are getting larger by the millisecond. The first day I tried this I didn't realize there was a protective film over the product. That film REALLY, REALLY needs to be in color, or have a colored tag on it. YOU CAN'T SEE IT b/c the product is clear, as well. If you've purchased the product you know exactly what I mean. Anyway, I tried it again this morning (the 2nd day I had the product), & all it did was make my foundation sink into my pores. As if that wasn't bad enough, around 4pm (approx. my 4th hour at work) I look in the mirror & I'm horrified. My foundation actually moved...I had foundation smears all over my face. No, I don't touch my face... Not only b/c of COVID, but many years ago a derm told me about the gazillions of germs that are transferred to our faces from our hands. Since then my hands don't go near my face unless they're very clean. The packaging for this is great. The usual Mally bright pink compact. I didn't like the sponge that came with the product. It doesn't need to be so thick. If I were to carry this in my purse makeup bag, I'd have to put it in a Ziploc. A thinner sponge to store in the compact would be much, much more practical. Just for transparency same, this is my makeup routine... 1) Clarins daytime lifting moisturizer w/SPF... Let it sink in for a couple mins 2) Rhianna's primer...I can't think of the product name off hand & let that sink in for 30 secs - a min 3) E.L.F Pore Putty primer in my t-zone, sides of my nose & apples of my cheeks... All areas I have swimming pool size pores... Let it sink in for 30 secs - to a min 4) Makeup Forever foundation 5) Urban Decay eyeshadow primer 6) Dior concealer 7) Laura Mercier loose powder...I substituted this for the Mally Evercolor Poreless Face Defender When I use just powder, my makeup is great throughout the day. With the Mally product... Forget it 8) I continue with my blush, highlighter, eyeshadows, etc. I'm a counselor, so it's not like I'm running around the office. In fact, I sit too much! Take my review as you will. This was my experience, & I wanted to let y'all know about so you can look at the product's pros & cons for yourself. Enjoy, & take care!

The Good: - great shine control - much lighter and less cakey than powder - won't sink into pores - sheer silicone-like material - high quality - lasts a long time (you won't have to buy another one for awhile!) The Bad: - foundation sticks to product and gets it gunky - expensive I finally bought this product after seeing a bunch of reviews for it, and while I like it, I'm still on the fence as to whether or not I'll buy it again, because it is pricey. It feels great on my skin, and I love how it's a nice, sheer matte look. I recently went camping and I didn't want to wear makeup when I knew I'd be sweating all day, so I brought along some primer/face refresher spray and the Malley Beauty Defender, and it was a great way to keep my shine under control and soften the look of my pores. **ADVICE** When you put this on, lightly tap the applicator sponge on the product and then tap it on your face, otherwise you'll get too much product on the sponge and end up wiping the makeup right off your face. My only complaint about this is that because you're putting it on over makeup, even with just tapping the sponge applicator on the product and tapping it against your face, the product ends up with a lot of your makeup in it because it transfers from the sponge. I'm not sure how to avoid this except to use a clean side of the sponge each time I touch it to my face, but then I'd have to wash the sponge literally every single day (usually I just use a fresh side each day)- I'll try it and see how it goes. In the meantime, I'm not sure how to get the goop from my makeup off the surface of the product! Overall, it was a fun product to try and if I can figure out how to keep it clean, I'll probably buy it again in the future.

I love this stuff! I apply it after about 10-15 minutes after finishing my makeup off with a finishing spray and it makes my skin have an ethereal glow. It takes away any oily shine, smooths the skin and blurs wrinkles and fine lines. Be sure to wait until your makeup is completely set before using, otherwise the sponge will pick up makeup from your skin and deposit it into the product in the compact. This is an absolute holy grail product that I am never without. It is a little pricey but well worth it and the product is long lasting and very effective. Love Love Love! ** Mally- PLEASE don't EVER stop making this!!! The “dupes” and drugstore versions have nothing on this incredible original!

I truly love this as a finishing product and I think it does an amazing jog making my makeup look blended and it takes away the shine leaving a nice matte look. It does what a powder does but better because it doesn't make fine lines and pores more pronounced as powder can. With that being said, I understand the frustrations some reviewers have mentioned. You do have to only pat the product or it becomes cracked or gets holes. My biggest frustration is that my foundation mixes with the silicon-like stuff and then it looks gross and I don't know if it's even working anymore at that point. I have contacted the company hoping for answers but only have received a generic "make sure you only pat the product" response. So I am not sure if I will buy it again but I haven't found another finishing product I like better.

I've been using this amazing and intriguing product for at least 7 years now and still have not found any other product like it in the market. I feel sometimes like I'm the only girl in the world using this amazing setting powder - its like my little secret. Rarely do I see anyone use this nor do I see anyone in the online beauty community recommend and/or even discuss this great little product. This powder is completely translucent and has a smooth texture that you press the applicator sponge into and then press that onto your face after you apply your makeup (only foundation and concealer is what I have on when I use this product). After you press this on top of your makeup you will be set for the day! This keeps all the makeup in place and initially after you apply it removes any excess shine. It locks your look into place without that ghostly tone that all other setting powders leave behind. I never fear that I'll look like Casper the Ghost whenever I take photos (either with or without the flash) when I use this product. This is my go-to holy grail setting powder and it continues to remain to be my top setting powder that I use everyday. The only down-side is that sometimes I wish I could just purchase the sponge applicator aside from the actual product in case I need a new sponge. Also the compact case holding the product is super high quality, but I fear that I'm being wasteful when I buy this product since the case that holds it could simply be formatted for placing in a new disc of the product. Instead of me having to buy this whole compact case plus the product again, which I feel is wasteful. Thats more of a comment on me wanting my products to be earth-friendly and reusable but thats just some food for thought.

I’ve bought this many times because it’s a great product and does it claims to do. I gave it 2 stars because it came without a box, and without the makeup sponge that usually comes with it. It’s also the old style of compact. I thought I was buying “new” as the other times. I had to double check and make sure I didn’t order it from EBay, I didn’t so I’m not sure what is going on, there was no explanation as to why this would be different than the other times I’ve ordered this item. It’s disappointing and I was charged full price and it isn’t cheap. Not crazy about this seller, Mint Blossoms, maybe EBay would be a better selling platform for them.

Complete waste of money. Could not get anything on the sponge, it was just a hard block of gel. Ended up throwing it away.

I don’t understand all the praises being said about this product , does not work at all like it says, very very expensive !!!!!!! Save your money !!!!!!!!

Have to confess I have had this product before, it lasts for ages so the price is very reasonable. I have large pores in my nose area and this helps smooth out the imperfections. It has a lovely consistency thats hard to describe, but as soon as applied it just acts like a spray sealant, for those of you who paint, its reminiscent of gesso on a canvas prior to painting. Hope this helps, all I can say is its got my vote and works for me.
