Wanted a small carpet washer just to do rugs This vax would have done everything, had I needed it to.Like other reviewers I found it quite noisy, especially on flatter surfaces. It can whistle in such a high pitch, it actually hurts your ears, so BEWARE! I found it much better to squeeze the trigger very quickly two or three times as you push the vax and this is enough not to get your carpet too wet...yet sufficient to clean. Try pulling the vax back slowly over the piece just done, this will take the water through a lot better. I found if you empty the dirty water frequently and rinse out at the same time, it not only keep the vax clean but also avoids any dirty water going astray. Also look at the side of the clean water tank to make sure you only fill to the marker and try not to add too much shampoo as this may result in a sticky pile on your rugs or carpets. The pedal was a bit tricky at first as I tried to click it down hard. All it needs is gentle pressure and click the handle down instead of the pedal. It's a powerful little washer and after having a big vax machine in the past, I'm really pleased I picked this one. It's light, easy to assemble, easy to push and pull (especially as I suffer with back problems) and does the job just as well as my old vax. All in all I would certainly recommend this machine.

I was a little put off when I lifted it out of the box but it was surprisingly easy to put together, just three screws and very light and easy to use.My cream carpets came up well and dried in about 2 hours with the central heating on. I was amazed at how dirty the water was! I must admit I felt somewhat embarrassed by the colour of the water. The reservoir isn't massive by any account and I had to refill it three times for one room.I filled the clean water container with one litre of water and a capful of shampoo and out of interest measured out the dirty water into a jug. It was only 1/3 litre so I guess 2/3 of the solution was left in the carpet. That surprised me - I expected more of the water to be sucked out so I knocked off a star. I'm not sure how other carpet washers measure up in this respect so I hope I haven't been unfair. I wish Vax would bring out a cleaner with scotchguard - maybe they do but if so I've been unable to find it. Anyway, good little cleaner for the money and no complaints for £50.I have also knocked a star of for the noise the cleaner makes, near deafening. Saying that it proved my noise cancelling headphones don't work as well as you'd expect...

As a dog breeder with lots of carpet and lots of dogs (I hate laminate!) I have to work hard to keep my carpets clean. I have the bigger Vax which is great, but it has to live in the garage and is cumbersome to use, so I wanted something that would fit in my under stairs cupboard and would be easy to use quickly. This is fantastic and ticks all my boxes! It's cleaned my carpets a treat without much effort. Yes, it's noisy but that doesn't bother me. The little filter underneath the tank blocks quite quickly, but it's seconds to clear it; glad I read other reviews though or I wouldn't have known where to find it. My only niggle is that the cord isn't as long as my big vax, but I can live with that! I found it didn't soak the carpets as other reviews have said - you just have to get the hang of using the trigger so you don't release too much liquid. I also found that one tank of water was enough to do my large 20ft lounge. Overall, easier to use and handle than my big vax, does the job well, and only paid £50! Excellent!

Really small and only good for spot cleaning. But it is light weight and easy to assemble. The water was fairly dirty but I have large rooms and it would have taken 5 or 6 refill of the machine to do one room and it just wasn't worth the time and effort. PLUS It only picked up about half the water us put down so took 2 days to dry. I will get a bigger more expensive machine for that but will keep this one for small spot cleaning. Disappointed but it was cheap so what can one expect?

This carpet cleaner is truly perfect.Cleaner comes with a bottle of cleaner so there is nothing to stop you cleaning as soon as it arrives! I enjoyed this aspect. However I have to tell you when you start with this cleaner it is very hard to stop. Mainly because the cleaning effect it brilliant. For a small machine it really does pack a punch. I have light coloured carpets which I thought I was really going to live to regret, thankfully I don't now regret my light carpets because I have this cleaner.I am not very big or tall or strong and I find this machine really comfortable to use, its easy to push around and doesn't hurt my back, so I can be independent in doing my cleaning.The machine is so easy to put together when you get it delivered, and amazingly easy to understand and operate. Filling the tank is easy and so is the measuring of the carpet shampoo.Nice long cable means you can access areas without having to constantly move to another socket.I find that the carpets are very dry very quickly after cleaning which is an absolute bonus.Instruction manual was easy and can be read in 5 mins with no complications or confusing information.Machine is fairly light so most people could operate this and move it around and its neat size means its easy to store. Handle moves right down to to save space.Uses shampoo fairly so doesn't cost the earth to clean a few carpets.We have pets and this model really does get rid of any lingering pet smells and doesn't clog up with pet hairthe best part about this carpet washer was the price, what an absolute snip of a price for a machine to CLEAN CARPETS. I have previously hired a machine from the supermarket or paid for somebody to come to my house to clean the carpets now I can clean them before they get too dirty because I only have to buy the shampoo.i used this machine to clean my sons flat and he had a puppy who was still having accidents on the carpet. This little machine cleaned those carpets and they smelled so clean!! The carpets were almost getting ripped up prior to the clean because of the smell of amonia from puppy urine.I would buy this machine again in a heart beat.Perfect for my needsOnly cons- pretty noisy when cleaning
