I’ve used quite a few mobile gimbals over the years, and the Osmo Mobile 8P is easily my favourite so far. The standout feature for me is the detachable controller with its built-in screen. Being able to monitor what you’re filming without constantly looking at your phone makes a huge difference in real-world use. My favourite feature has to be the Point A to Point B motion programming. It allows you to create repeatable camera movements with ease and adds a professional touch to your shots. The new tripod legs are a massive improvement, providing a much more stable setup than previous versions. Setup is quick, and the whole system feels very user-friendly, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced creator. The intelligent tracking works brilliantly, hand gesture control is reliable, and subject tracking remains locked on impressively well. You also get all the usual shooting modes including Pan Follow, Tilt Follow, FPV, and the classic Inception/Corkscrew rotation mode, along with smooth 360-degree pan movements. Another welcome addition is the built-in LED light, which allows you to adjust the colour temperature to suit different environments. It’s surprisingly useful for vlogging, selfies, and low-light situations. Overall, this is an incredibly capable mobile gimbal packed with useful features. For content creators, vloggers, and mobile filmmakers, it’s hard to fault and easily deserves 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’ve been using DJI products for a while now, from drones to microphones, gimbals, and the Osmo Pocket range, and I can honestly say DJI has become one of those brands I trust without hesitation. I started with the DJI Osmo Mobile 7, moved up to the Osmo Mobile 8, and now I’m using the Osmo Mobile 8P. Each step has felt like DJI refining something that was already good, but the 8P feels like the version where everything comes together properly. The stabilisation is smooth, the handling feels solid, and it gives mobile footage a much more professional look without making the setup complicated. That is what I like most about DJI gear: it helps you create better content without fighting the equipment. You turn it on, get moving, and it just works. Coming from the Osmo Mobile 7 to the 8 and now the 8P, the improvement feels noticeable. The 8P feels more polished, more confident, and better suited for someone who wants to film properly with a phone rather than just grab shaky clips. Whether I’m filming for social media, behind-the-scenes content, walking shots, product clips, or general video work, it makes everything look cleaner and more controlled. I also like how well it fits into the rest of the DJI ecosystem. I already use DJI drones, DJI mics, gimbals, and the Osmo Pocket 3, so the 8P feels like another strong part of a setup that keeps getting better. DJI clearly understands creators, and the Osmo Mobile 8P proves that again. For me, this is not just a phone accessory. It is a serious little content tool. Compact, smooth, reliable, and easy to use. The DJI Osmo Mobile 8P is a brilliant upgrade and, honestly, one of the best mobile gimbals I’ve used so far. Highly recommended.

Bought to replace another gimbal. Having the mini screen is a great addition and helps control from another room when shooting properties. Feels more stable than my previous DJI gimbal. So far so good!

HORRIBLE! Easier to use the phone by itself just handheld. Too many settings to organise & still dosent work. Always pints at the floor whatever movements you make. Absolute waste of money and can't return now. 1 star but would be zero stars if the option was available 😡

Great buy. I bought this to upgrade my osmo mobile 6. I tend to use this more when on my own so I wanted the removable little screen so I can tell what I am doing. It’s great at tracking but I haven’t used the light on it yet. The tripod that is built in is a great improvement. It’s easy to use and great quality. I have a number of DJI products and they never fail. I have an iPhone 15 pro and it doesn’t have any problems attaching to that.

Amazing bit of kit. Multiple tracking/gimbal modes. Works natively with iPhone so set up is a doddle.

So far so good, all id say is it’s quite hard to set up correctly, and the little remote screen isn’t that touch sensitive. But it’s beautifully made, seems to stabilise well and hopefully it’ll make me millions as an influencer!

La stabilisation est d'une fluidité irréprochable, même en courant. Les moteurs sont super puissants et supportent sans problème mon grand smartphone très lourd avec sa coque.Le nouveau système de suivi intelligent (ActiveTrack) est extrêmement réactif et ne perd jamais le sujet de vue, ce qui est idéal pour se filmer en solo. Le déploiement est quasi instantané et l'autonomie est au top. C'est l'accessoire indispensable pour des vidéos de qualité pro. Je recommande à 100 % !

I'm not a youtuber or a professional video creator, but I enjoy making vacation and travel family videos. A few years ago I purchased a phone gimbal and it really made a big difference in the way my videos looked, but the model I had was missing several features that I was interested in. The Osmo Mobile 8P is a tremendous upgrade for me. It's a more compact package, allows shooting upside down (the old gimbal couldn't do that) and handles my large Galaxy phone with much more ease. With the superb video quality available from modern phones and gimbal stabilization you can really get results that rival the output from dedicated gimbal vlogging cameras like Osmo Pocket or Insta360's new Luna line. The Osmo 8P comes in several packages. The one I got is the more basic one, and it doesn't come with the AI tracking module. This is something that can be purchased separately thou. Depending on your use case, the tracking module can be a very useful addition, but for my needs I decided to skip it for now. The gimbal features all typical modes pan and tilt, pan only, fpv and for fun - the spinning mode. The first two are the ones I tend to use. The gimbal follows the movements very smoothly without overcorrecting making it very easy to create smooth cinematic shots. You can get very nice shots even when moving, especially if you put a bit of work into reducing the up and down motion when walking. I really like the upside down mode that allows low to the ground shots. This is something that I always missed in my old gimbal and I'm very happy Osmo 8p supports this feature. Probably the most advanced part of this gimbal is its ability to track subjects. Since this can be used not only when the gimbal is stationary, but also when it is in motion it allows for really impressive follow shots that would be otherwise very difficult to achieve. The gimbal can track subjects in few different ways. First - if you have the tracking module - it can use its built in camera and AI processor. This is fully compatible with the detachable remote which can even show the preview video form the tracking camera. Just tap the subject and the gimbal will follow its movements. This works great for people, pets, and even small objects like remote controlled toys. Second option is available on Apple phones - the gimbal can use face and body tracking from the native camera app - this works really well, but it is limited to people tracking only. Third option that is available on both Android and Apple devices and doesn't require the tracking module is available when using the DJI Mimo app for shooting videos. In this case the app takes care of the tracking and it produces excellent results. It's probably the most feature rich tracking option, but it has one limitation - since the phone's camera is controlled by the Mimo app, you are limited to recording options supported by the app only. On my phone for example 8K video mode is not supported by Mimo and only by my phone's native camera app. If that's something important for you, the tracking module might be a worthwhile upgrade. One of my favourite features of the gimbal is it's ability to shoot moving timelapses. You can select the starting end ending points and the shooting duration and the gimbal will smoothly move the camera while shooting creating an effect that looks like it should require a full camera crew. As far as negatives go the main one that comes to mind is the battery life. DJI advertises up to 10 hours but this is under unrealistic conditions. In real life I'm getting about 3 hours of usage, which fortunately is more than enough for my needs. Overall, it's a great accessory that does 95% of what a standalone gimbal camera can do, at much lower cost. Recommended!
