This folding anchor can be stowed easily and carried in its own storage bag making it ideal for use when kayaking and canoeing. It fits neatly into a hatch or under bungees in a well. It can also be used for anchoring small boats, dinghies, inflatables, tenders, ribs and jetskis. The kit includes the 1.6kg (3.5lb) folding anchor with 6.5m x 6mm of line, adjustable float, stainless steel snap shackle and a padded storage bag. The anchor itself is 30cm in length and 28cm wide when open and coated for protection.

good piece of kit, reccomend
feels well built and operates as expected (after correct set up) doesn't appear any different to other more expensive kits ive seen at double the price. took it out almost strait away hooked onto my anchor trolley nicely and once anchored i didnt drift an inch in 8- gusting 14 kts wind and slight chop with a heavy outgoing tide. very impressed and pleased with the purchase.one bad thing was the toggle on the bag broke on first use but im not that bothered, the bag is still usuable and i didnt buy this product for the bag its the anchor im bothered about.my setup: undo the spliced knot on the anchor taking note of how the knot comes undone (if you want the float to be able to move up and down the line this is the time to pull the rope through it). re-tie the knot on the bottom of the anchor in the same way it was tied on the top (by pushing the rope together it makes the internal tube bigger and there for easyer to feed the knot tail back down) on the top use a weak ty-wrap or suitable piece of fishing line to tie the rope to the top. this will be the emergency release should the anchor become stuck ensure you test break away material to ensure it's not too weak or too strong(im using 32LB braid which works beautifully). next attach a weight on the rope just far enough up the rope it causes the anchor to topple ( i used 3 fishing weights ty-wrapped onto the rope at 6" spacings)alternative: untie the knot on the anchor and fit a heavy gauge chain as per the instructions above. re tie the knot onto the end of the chain. this method requires no weights as the chain weighs the anchor down.i was going to use chain but when i looked at the price of a plastic coated chain (plastic coated to prevent noise when fishing) and chain connector compared to the price of 3 fishing weights it seemed a little silly.

Retie the knot to the base so you don't get the anchor stuck
Great product delivered before due date and is perfect for my kayak in shallow waters. Went out for the first time in high water and got stuck under a rock, couldn't release so left it there until I could get back a week later. Still bobbing around in the waves I managed to release from the rocks and retreive still in perfect condition. Lesson learnt! untie the knot on the top of the anchor and retie at the base, then tie a piece of string to the top and loop the rope tail so if it gets stuck again a quick tug and the string will break allowing the anchor to be retrieved upside down. This works a treat.

Good product
Anchor is of a good quality. I bought this for kayak use. However, I will shortly be taking the rope off that came with it and putting it on a kayak paracord reel for use in deeper waters while fishing.

Needs a longer length of rope but anchors really well
Used this to anchor my kayak at sea in a big swell and it did the job perfectly. You will need to add more rope if you are going to anchor in deeper water as this comes with only a 6 metre length, I've added a further 30 metres of para cord so I can let out twice the depth. Look on YouTube for lots of tips on anchoring your kayak and modifying the set up, check out Dizzyfish for really good advice on set up and deployment.

Wonderful
Really good, use it for my spearfishing raft. Easy to use and store and does the trick when keeping my fish tethered.

useless
This thing is useless except for perhaps dredging rubbish from the bottom of a canal. I tried using it today on a canal with my inflatable kayak. There was a bit of a breeze and without an anchor I was slowly drifting. Dropped the anchor in and it hit the bottom, however this only slowed down my drift to about half the speed. The breeze was still pushing me along with the anchor just dragging along the bottom! Thought I must have done something wrong and tried numerous times and ensured all 4 prongs were secured, no joy, utter rubbish. Even the red paint has stated to come off after such short use and if a slight breeze on a canal is stronger than it can handle I'd hate to try it anywhere with waves! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY, maybe 4 of these might keep you still in a breeze.
