The lead is of very good quality but two points I make in order that they can change a 4 to a 5. The spring catch is fiddly and like all of that design always sticks if you have had your dog on the beach. Little grains of sand get stuck in the latch mechanism....easily flushed out with a spray of luboil but annoying. Best to be changed to the carabena latch type. The other issue is the loop at the human end....too tight for my hand....and I am only wee. Its a fiddle to get off quickly eg in a tangle. Now I am sure the makers could make a case for it being so tight but I believe if it was twice as large it could still be gripped securely. I think I like it is fair....make it I love it please.

I do love these leads, they are strong and long, Would be a five star if the secondary handgrip was a stronger (the stitching comes away after a while if the dog pulls a lot) and was easier to get hold of in a hurry. This second grip lies flat against the main lead and if the dog is pulling and you want to get him close you need slack to get your hand in, but of course you can't get your hand in because there is no slack....Improve the security of the second grip (rivets?) and leave some sort of loop to allow ease of use and these would be perfect.I have had four of these leads previously and have only got new ones because of fraying over the years as my dogs like to get a grip the lead occasionally with their teeth.

This leash isn't as super powerful and well-crafted as they make it out to be. Quality control must be bad in general as the one I received has a lot of dodgy stitching, mainly on the label. The metal clasp is flimsy too, loose mechanism that looks like it will slip and open if enough pulling is applied by the dog.Although it is still worth the price. Minus the cheap clasp and bad stitching, everything else is good about it.

This is great. The handles are comfortable, the strap feels secure and strong, and my occasionally boisterous 2 year old Staffie can bite and chew on it all she likes without damaging either it or herself. We'd tried an extendable lead, but that was just dangerous: she could easily have strangled herself or damaged her gums on the thin nylon line. This is an ideal solution. The two handle idea works terrifically well: you can switch from short lead to long lead and back instantly, so you've got complete control all the time and she's got a bit of freedom, which makes the whole experience easy and stress free, particularly since we need to navigate some traffic before we can get to the green area. Works a treat.

I'm right with the other reviewer who said this is by far the best lead they've ever owned. The quality alone is top-notch and combined with the clever design, leaves the competition in the shade. Train My Hound products are always made to the very highest standard you can trust them to never let you down. I bought a TMH dog collar around six months ago and it has stood up to daily dips in the sea, forages through thorny undergrowth, and a pup strong enough to pull me off my feet but as the photo shows, aside from the obvious signs of wear it's still intact and set to last a good few years yet. I really can't praise TMH pet products highly enough and have no hesitation recommending them to every discerning pet-owner. After much searching, this is the best lead we've ever bought for our greyhound! After 6 months of being dragged through salt water, mud and god knows what else, I can confirm it is strong and sturdy, both the material and stitching. The handles are comfortably cushioned and the best bit is that it has a secondary handle flush to the lead for keeping the dog to heel. As well as that, it has a D-ring under the primary handle so you can either clip on doggy bags or clip it right at the dogs collar for close handling. We work with rescue dogs so this is ideal if they hoover up every scrap of street food they see or are agressive with other dogs.I highly reccomend this product and commend the seller for the reasonable price.

A good dog lead; nice strong clip and good length, the extra handhold is very useful for extra control. Also rolls up fairly small and is light to carryUpdate - have been using the lead for just over a week now and am very impressed; the second handhold is at the perfect height for giving us control over our lurcher who can be very reactive with other dogs, I feel much more confident walking him in situations where he might react badly. Have also found that he walks better to heel. Good stuff

I was bitterly disappointed with this item.The material of the lead is fine but the clip is flimsy and the closing device is so loose that the pressure of the metal loop on the collar can cause it to open. I would not dare use this lead for my dog as she still pulls and I fear I could be left holding a lead. Be very careful if you buy this lead.
