## Overview

The Sankey 1229 150L Beehive Water Butt is a stylish, eco-friendly rainwater collection system made from 100% recycled, shatterproof plastic. With a generous 150-litre capacity and ceramic-look finish, it’s designed for durability and aesthetic appeal. Compatible with Sankey stands and diverter kits, it offers an efficient, sustainable way to reduce water bills and support garden watering needs while enhancing outdoor spaces.

## Description

Product Description The Sankey 150-litre beehive butt is an easy way to collect, store and dispense rainwater from your roof. Garden watering can account for as much as 70 per cent of water used in hot conditions, but by taking a few and easy practical steps--such as using a water butt like this--it is easy to save water by collecting rain water and storing it to help the hose pipe bans. A water butt is also a great way to help you save money on your water bills. This water butt is designed to look like it’s made of ceramic, making it an attractive feature in any garden. It has a low-carbon footprint as it is made from 100 per cent recycled materials, of which a minimum is 75 per cent post-consumer waste, and is manufactured in the United Kingdom in accordance with strict quality control standards. This water butt fits on both the Sankey premier and standard water butt stands and is compatible with the Sankey water diverter kit, sold separately, which channels water from your gutter downpipe to the butt. Box Contains 1 x water butt stand

Review: What a stunner !!!!! Careful if you have little ones !!!! - I ordered one of these previously through my Gardners World magazine and I really liked it. This was before we had all the rain but I decided to replace an old water butt with another. I ordered through desertcart as this one was very competitive in price and obviously delivered to your door. It really looks lovely in my cottage garden and blends in well with everything. If you have small children though be careful because the tops are reasonably easy to remove. In one of mine I have cut out a circle for a shed downpipe so they are very versatile. Also consider buying the stand for the Waterbutt, I have one on one of mine and it finishes it all off nicely.
Review: Looks very realistic - I wanted a water butt that would be more of a feature as it will be fairly visible, and this is interesting enough and though made of plastic, is an excellent simulacrum of terracotta. The fluting on the sides does make it tricky to fit the entry spigot if you are using a rainfall diverter; in my case the spigot called for a 26mm hole - I deliberately drilled it at 25 as the plastic is thick enough and soft enough for the thread to cut its way in. This gives a nice waterproof solution if the wavy surface otherwise defeats a regular gasket.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How have you ensured the connector is flush with the surface? They are made to go against a flat surface which of course the beehive isn't! Thanks**
A: Hello

The connecting kit I bought had a rubber washer that fitted inside on the connecting hose that was mounted from the inside, which is flat, the fixing nut is on the outside of the barrel which when tightened secures the connector and washer which remains flat, the nut is between ridges and not level, this is not important as the secure watertight fitting is inside the water butt. hope this helps John

**Q: Where does the tube connect to? Into the lid? There is no hole connect to**
A: We made a hole in the side of the butt to connect to the downpipe. If you use the lid it will keep overflowing.

**Q: I have purchsed this water butt but now need the terracotta coloured stand to go with it. Can anyone advise which Amazon retailer that sells these?**
A: I'm afraid the matching stand has been discontinued, which is a shame. I bought the strata 250l stand but to be honest it looks ugly and too big.

**Q: How tall is this water butt**
A: 77cm ,on the stand 106cm, with the lid 109cm.

Regards Ant

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sankey Beehive Water Butt
*by M***E on 28 October 2010*

This is a handsome beast as far as water butts go; they are not usually known for their good looks but this one certainly has them -it has been much admired as it stands by my front door. I would have given this item 5 stars except that, once full, the tap leaked. I was given a 15% refund, which I thought was fair. The butt was easy to connect up but I think, for the price, the connection kit should have been included. I also thought the stand was pricey so mine rests on some terracotta bricks which I was given. Apart from this I am very happy with the water butt.
