C&H, Professional Baker's Sugar Ultrafine, 8 Pound

Best of the brands I've used.
What I like: I've bought 48 pounds over the past two years, and I've never had clumping that didn't respond to shaking the box before using it. Just a few shakes and the sugar pours out like silk. Other brands I've bought locally apparently have shipping/storing problems that caused nearly unbreakable clumps. Whatever clumps I've had with this brand respond to a tap with a spoon. I like the packaging: I never have more than 4lbs open, and it's stored in a water-resistant box rather than a paper bag.Things to know:Ultra-fine sugar is also known as "Caster" sugar, "Baker's" sugar, "Baker's special" sugar, or (cocktail)"Bar" sugar. It is no different than table sugar except that it is produced in a much finer grain.I'm not a baker, so I'm not using this in large amounts. I use it in anything where I need the sugar to dissolve quickly and completely, as in iced coffee. (It's often known as "bar sugar" because the ultra-fine grains dissolve in cold cocktails.) This Ultra-Fine is what I always have in the sugar bowl since it can be stirred easily into anything. I've become spoiled on having it available and now use it whenever a recipe requires less than a cup of sugar and only a short handling time. Muffins, for instance. It measures approximately the same as table sugar when you're using it in small quantities. However, because the grain is so fine, more of this baker's sugar can settle into a container than table sugar can. When using large amounts in a recipe it's better to measure by weight instead of volume, but for most of us, that's impractical. Elsewhere among these reviews, user Dinubabear suggests removing one tablespoon full of this Ultra-Fine from each cup in a recipe when you are replacing table sugar. The price for this product changes, so I buy ahead of need. I paid $2.19 per pound with this last purchase of three 4lb boxes at $26.30, free shipping. I buy when the price is between $24 to $28 with free shipping.UPDATE: Forgot I was expecting delivery and this got left out in the package shelter overnight in the rain. When a visitor brought it in, the box got wet during trip from car to front door. It was wet in the kitchen for a few hours before I opened it ... and it was fine. Some small clumps turned back into silk when pressed with a spoon. I hope it performs as well for you.

Good price for a hard to find item
It is hard to find superfine or caster sugar in my area save in the small boxes where the price per ounce is artificially elevated and is just plain silly, given that it is basically just granulated sugar ground to be more fine and you can do that in your food processor. However I do a lot of baking and love that I can skip that food processor and have caster sugar at hand for only a dollar or so more for a 4 lb bag/box than I would pay for granulated sugar at the local store. If you aren't familiar with caster sugar you will come to love it. Use it measure for measure in place of granulated sugar in recipes where you want it to dissolve quickly- so it is perfect for meringues or for any cake where you want to minimize mixing but still be sure sugar is going to dissolve. Dissolves more quickly in cold drinks and I also use it for cocktails and rimming glasses.

Sweet Success
I love this product and cannot source it locally. Great for baking, frozen deserts and drinks. I must say though that the boxes are always bashed up and sugar is all over the inside of the box. I do have to sift it because it always has lumps in it. Still worth it.

Very good product
Used to be able to buy this in my grocery store. Not anymore--thankfully it's online. Packaged well so no sugar spilled into the box.

A must have for meringue
This superfine sugar is a must have for making meringues. It dissolves easily giving a smooth texture. Also great for cocktails and making simple syrups. Wish it wasn’t so expensive in the U.S.

Arrived fresh and packaged well
Ordered this sugar for a couple of Christmas cookie recipes. Can no longer find it in the grocery stores, of course. You never know if food items ordered will arrive fresh. This did.
