Excellent large size knife block
An excellent solid wood knife block. Room in the slot at the back for a cleaver, and now houses all my kitchen knives, including a steel, a carving fork and an oyster knife. Not sure that I understand earlier reviewers' comments regarding an obtrusive label - on my block it is very small and unobtrusive so I have felt no need to try to remove it.Please also note the size of this block - it IS big, but that is just what I needed. If you only want to house a few knives, this would be totally over the top!All in all an excellent product, and worth every penny

Great wooden block
Super block for 12 knives, cleaver and scissors. As other reviewers have mentioned, the slots go right through so you need to make sure your longer knives go at the back due to the sloping top. At the front, longer knives will protrude through the bottom and scratch your workbench, damage your knives, or even your hand if you pick it up!Only complaint is that it is supplied with a large label stuck on the front which is difficult to remove, leaving a sticky mess of glue. Reluctant to use any solvents to remove this as may damage the wood. No doubt it will disappear over time, but can look dirty! The block itself is excellent.

ok, not great
The positives and negatives are all confirmed: the quality is ok overall, but the finish is ragged. You need to spend a while cleaning up the ragged edges and bits of glue. Also I can't understand the hole for the steel. Why not at the back where it is 10 inches deep? Most steels are this long, so your steel will hit your counter top each time you put it in the block.

A large, quality knife block
A good sized block with a selection of slots for different knives. Would have been 5 stars were it not for the irritating sticky label on the front that resisted all the usual ways of removing sticky labels. (In the end we got it off with white spirit.)

which most people with good knives would have in their collection
Is well made and takes up a small amount of room on bench as possible, unlike angular blocks that have a scissors storage section and is stylish. Only thing that is missing for me is a honing steel storage section, which most people with good knives would have in their collection. If it had this I’d give it five stars.

Made perfectly for the job.
Just the job, and does what I intended to do. A lovely piece of craftsmanship.

Good Value for Money
Good value for money with lots of spaces for my knives, but as mentioned before, the hole for the sharpening steel is at the front, which meant that it dragged onto the worktop. However, with a little precise drilling on a hole at the back sorted this out.

Good quality.
Good size slots. Excellent quality rubberwood. Cant fault this at all - I love the fact it doesn't take up too much space. Wish I'd bought one years ago!
