It feels like the design dept at Pimoroni must have become disillusioned and given up before this product became fit for purpose. The idea that anyone could accept a method of securing a miniature electronic board which involves a clamping force acting directly on to the components is almost beyond belief. The best solution imo would be a third piece of acrylic which would have it's centre cut out leaving a narrow strip around the edges with the 4 holes cut out so that it acts like a spacer. Granted that it would mean that the camera would be slightly recessed but in the unlikely event of any vignetting, the hole would have to be enlarged slightly. The alternative is washers as spacers and I have many at home but none with a small enough diameter. I was lucky to receive 7 nuts with my kit so as an interim measure I have used 3 of them between the camera board and the acrylic and I will lash up something to act as a 4th one. If they supplied 8 nuts it would be better than nothing.I realise that it is only a fiver but I would be much happier paying say £7.50 if it included a way of attaching the camera without fouling the board itself. FWIW, I have had a hunt here on Amazon and for some reason all the camera mounts are all flawed in one way or another.For assembly, a pair of decent tweezers makes life less frustrating. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Basic, does the job nicely *by A***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 March 2019* I wanted a mount to hold the camera in position against a window, and to make the camera less visible as a camera. The mounting is fiddly, both pieces need to have a film peeled off before use. The screws are not white nylon (as in the sales picture) but metal, see my photos. The two pieces clip together, which may take a fair amount of force. There was a spare screw and three extra nuts in the bag, which I appreciated after dropping one on the floor.The package is tiny, virtually lost inside the jiffy bag it arrived in. There was no cover note or instructions (like which way around to put the screws is, or to peel off the protective film). Still gets 4 stars, as this is very good value and once in place it looks pretty nice. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not bad, but I have a better idea. *by T***D on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 November 2014* This item could be brilliant. As it is, it's just okay. It is a very cheap item that could be improved thus:- The item would be much improved by a hinge. I have decided that, rather than use this product, I have ordered some 4x2 lego hinges from ebay and shall just tie the picam to one of those and drill through the base.- the packaging was way too tight. Upon attempting to extract it from the packaging I had screws and nuts bouncing all over the place.- There are no instructions whatsoever.
