VERY FAST SERVICE AND LOVELY LITTLE BOOK, NOT A BEGINNERS BOOK AS THERE ARE ONLY WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS? SO I HAVE DEDUCTED A STAR

I've bought and borrowed so many sewing books, finding only one or two interesting items per book, projects lost in pages and pages of tat like aprons (yawn), teatowels and peg bags.This little one is FULL of the things I want to sew: key rings with money pockets (useful for running /dogwalking when I don't want to take a bag)Phone carriers ; tablets case ; money purse ; wallet ; credit cards-in-a-cigarette-box holder ; sunglasses wallet ; pen case, and my Holy Grail, the pocketed handbag organiser, which you fill with your essentials (lippy, money, keys, snack, pen, phone) + move it to different bags without having to unpack and repack all your bits when you swap bagsThe only thing missing, for me, is step-by-step line drawings, but for £8 that's a small niggle. Oh, and that it took 17 days to arrive.I'm going to make lots of these projects for my charity raffle: logos /photos can be ironed on using transfer paper in my printer

I love all debbies books. she is self taught so most of us who were taught to sew by our mums should be able to make some or all the bags and make themselves a bit of money because that is what they are for .excellent book Debbie perfect for sewers and begginers to make something they can be proud of.

Great coffee table book - beautifully photographed. This isn't surprising as the original was a Kleine Taschen book and Taschen do make very good books.But it's been translated from German. I don't know if the translator knows the English language well enough to do the job they were asked to do. I don't know if the translator knows the German language well enough to do the job they were asked to do. But can immediately tell that the translator does not do any sewing, or at least I'd be very surprised if they did. they cannot even tell the top from the bottom of the item!Because of this poor translation this book is not of merchantable quality.So who is responsible for this joke of a book?Burravoe Translation service translated it. Okay maybe Saskia Abel doesn't know how to sew and writes very badly. I haven't seen the original. But I tend to think she knows what she is on about. Her sewing looks very well made.But really it isn't down to Burravoe Translation service. It's down to the publisher. Search Press.So this is my recommendation. Get this book if you want a lovely looking book to sit on your coffee table, or if you have been making little bags and purses for the past twenty years, and want a few new ideas, which your experience will tell you how to put into practice.Alternatively get this book in German, and learn to read German.Or better still - don't get this book, and also don't get anything from Search Press. This book is part of a series of little books. If this publisher is so lazy that they didn't bother to get someone from a craft background to proof read it before signing off that the translation was of an acceptable standard, then they could do anything. SIMPLY DON'T BUY FROM THEM - then maybe they will try a little harder next time.
