I bought these 7w (50W equivalent) 4000K LED bulbs to give something as close as possible to daylight on the easel in the studio where I paint. They replace 50W halogen bulbs, which ran too hot and cost too much to run.I chose these because their high Colour Refractive Index value (accuracy of colour rendition), which means my work looks just the same as it would in strong daylight. I could have bought cheaper bulbs, or lower wattage (5 or 6W) ones, but mixed reviews on quality & reliability of many of these persuaded me the additional outlay would be worth it. I Have not been disappointed! Not only did they arrive (with impressive speed) but were beautifully and securely boxed. Once installed, they proved very bright, with a steady, flicker-free light. My only reason for the 4-star rating on value for money was their initial cost, though I hope they'll turn out to be worth it in the long run.

Nice strong white light, but it is impossible to operate a digital radio in the same room, due to interference with the signal.

Bit flickery but does give out a strong light

Wish we had bought these years ago. Replacement for 50 watt bulbs so the energy saved is great. Light output is not distinguishable from 50 watt. No flickering either, I was a bit concerned because I did not know what kind of transformer we had. Would definitely recommend. The silver metal surround looks much smarter than plastic too.
