Nancy Cassidy's Kids Songs singalong songbook Paperback – August 1, 2004

Okay, so maybe Nancy Cassidy doesn't have the best singing voice in the world. Maybe the songs are old and you don't hear them much anymore. Well, my 26 year old daughter had this set when she was a little kid....on cassette tapes....and let me tell you....we ALL knew the entire play list order any lyrics..word for word. These are funny, catchy songs that are just plain fun to sing....some at the top of your lungs.I recently found this again on Amazon and purchased for my 2 year old great neice. My sister (her Grandma) kind of raised her eyebrows when I put the disc in. I could tell she didn't think it was going be a hit. Well let me tell you....history does repeat itself!!!! My great neice now asks for the songs by name and sings dances herself silly....and well yes, for old times sake, we all actually join in. Alot of fun for a good price. Comes with a nice song book so Grandma and Grandpa can learn the lyrics and be a little bit silly too!!!!If you had the original Kids Songs 1 & 2, this is the very same music, just a new look to the book, unfortunately not spiral bound like the original, but nice nonetheless.

This is a songbook that comes with two music cds. The price is cheaper than buying the two cds separately, but the songbook is not as easy to use as the spiral bound songbooks that came with the music cassettes. (Those spiral songbooks are only available with the cassettes, I believe.) Still, considering what you get, this is a nice package. The pictures are colorful and attractive. The songs appeal to both children and adults. My children and I used to listen to Nancy Cassidy's Kids Songs on long car trips, and I purchased this set so my grandchildren can enjoy the songs now.

I first heard Nancy Cassidy sing these songs when my daughter, two years old at the time, and I checked them out of the library. We loved them so much we bought the cassettes. Now she is 14, and her younger brother and 3 year old sister love to sing the songs (now we own the CDs), and we all sing them together. The song selection is fun and catchy. Cassidy has a great homey and fun voice. I want to add the lullaby songs on CD to our collection because I used to rock my oldest and my middle one to sleep at night with her songs (so the cassettes are getting old!). Also, great music to have in the car to sing along with.Thank you Amazon for stocking great CDs like this one.

A first time mother, I am thrilled to have found this collection!!! A now thirty-something year old woman, I remember fondly belting out "Chicken Lips" at a church talent showcase while my mom played the acoustic guitar. She maintains there is a video floating around somewhere, but luckily it hasn't surfaced. While my daughter is now only 6 months old, I can't wait for her to sing along to some of my favorite songs (way back when). My spiral bound book didn't come with CD's (though if I recall, it was a cassette). I can't WAIT for this to arrive! It will be a hit for years to come!!! I actually sing "Apples and Bananas" while I feed her (fruit) baby food. :D

I bought a whole bunch of these and some didn't have the CDs in. I don't so much care anymore because it's nice to have extra copies of the book that goes with it, but if you are buying it for the first time you are gonna want to have the CDs. They are wonderful too. As far as I know, Nancy Cassidy is responsible for the only children's song that Bruce Springsteen ever sang, or at least the best one - And It's In Here! - well, not Bruce Springsteen's version - her's, But it's the perfect song to sing if you want to horrify stuffy Aunts or Uncles or anyone from Congress, plus it has lots of other good songs too.

As a grandmother who enjoys providing good music when the kids come over, my first Nancy Cassidy's Kids Songs wore out. I am glad to find the set on Amazon in order to replace my older Kid's Songs CDs. The fun, folksy music is well done, and my grandkids have not grown tired of it. Cassidy's songs give young kids a sense of rhythm and melody. The songs are easy to sing, and cheerful. Even though my older grandkids may have outgrown it, I occasionally hear them sing some of the melodies..."She'll be comin' round the mountain when she comes...." Fabulous. I wish Cassidy would make more kids' music, or kids' gospel. What a voice!

This Nancy Cassidy's Kids Songs is a wonderful set. I had it with my children and wanted it for my grandchildren. Unfortunately, this set had the CD missing - - the song book was nice, but I really wanted the music CD too. The company reimbursed me thought - very nice.

We owned the original Kutz book / cassette tape of Kid's Songs 2 during the late 80's and wore the tape out with our children. I use the original book to play music for the grandkids, but it is falling to pieces. I was hoping this edition had the guitar chords, lyrics and melody line in the book so their parents could play the music but it only has the lyrics. I ended up buying a used copy of the 1986 edition to replace mine. On the positive side, the CD's are still wonderful and the grandkids love to sing along. Hopefully they will learn them well enough to sing along with grandma soon!

Contrary to the fact it says 2 cds on the front of the book there are none. Just the song book !
