The instructions were not helpful as they described fitting the catch to a cupboard. Fitting it to the inside vertical face of the loft opening is not quite the same. However, it worked well once it was fitted. My loft door is not particularly large or heavy. Can someone post a small video or a pic for understanding? Thanks** A: These are sent out with fitting instructions, if you have a heavy door then you will need to have 2 these are then set each side of the loft door **Q: How much room do you need on the inside of the door frame to fit the latch?** A: It's about 20mm square in section and is secured by two screws one each side. I cut away the part of the door frame that stops the door going right through, to loose a bit of the catch in this recess and leaving less of it sticking out. We have caught our backs on this catch after I first fitted it but now we tend to arch our backs to avoid it. The catch works well and is reasonably easy to fit and it's very cheap! Have had mine for a few months now and am delighted with the performance. Simple to install and operate. **Q: Mine bounces back open whenever I try to close it. Any ideas?** A: As I recall the fitting had to be precise for the latch to engage properly: (a) if the loft door fails to catch, loosen the two screws holding the latch and move the latch slightly outwards (b) If the gap is too great, loosen the two mounting screws and move the latch slightly inwards. Raise or lower the strike hook as necessary.
