I wasn't disappointed, this is an attractive "tub" and works perfectly. I sharpened several pencils and each came out with a decent, sharp point on the lead, and there was no breakage of the lead. The tub itself holds the shavings and so can be emptied when needed. To use, lift the plastic lid on the top to access the holes. When it is time to empty, press the black button on the side and carefully pull the top from the bottom (making sure you don't tip any shavings out). It is a bit stiff but likely that is because this is new and it will loosen over time with wear. A tiny bit more expensive than other similar products on the marketplace but I feel it was worth paying a little extra for something that is good quality.

I decided that I would go for a sharpener made for a pencil manufacturer. That, to me, ensured it had a lot to loose if it didn't perform well. I was right, it works perfectly.

I'm glad I selected a better quality pencil sharpener and deliberately selected Staedtler with it being a long-standing and reliable brand. I wasn't disappointed, this is an attractive "tub" and works perfectly. I sharpened several pencils and each came out with a decent, sharp point on the lead, and there was no breakage of the lead.
