It is very effective at sorting space however I would caution anyone looking to use it for pens to think twice as the drawers are too small. you can fit a pen diagonally in the big drawers but you will stare wistfully at the wasted space. The cabinet drawers are sturdy and whilst they don't 'lock' they do require a firm tug to open (due to a couple of indents on the drawer bases) which is extremely helpful for those who require it for storage of small items. The plastic doesnt seem to be too shoddy either however the back is exposed so its for placing against a wall/cabinet and not for sitting on it's lonesome.
