Am so glad I bought it because, when it arrived I looked at it, and thought it will damage the fish skin whilst using it. Due to the way it was made, to my surprise no it didn't. Very easy to use and easy to clean too. Just run the tap over it, and all the scales will come off. Depending on how you place the fish, the scales don't go everywhere. Nice little kitchen utensils 💯 Review: Excellent at descaling salmon - First time I’ve owned a proper fish scale remover and I wish I’d got one sooner. I wasn’t sure how this one could be so good because it looks like it shouldn’t work… but it does. I rub it over the fillet in a circular motion, whilst running the fish under cold water to wash away the scales. Very effective, easy, and minimal mess. To clean it just rinse under the tap as it will discolour if cleaned in a dishwasher, as pointed out in another review. ## Features - No need to use a knife - this easy-to-use fish-shaped scraper descales you fish in a matter of minutes - Like your favourite fish, its got its own set of 'scales'. This product is very good though Thank you **Q: How does it work? My son's really into cooking and i want to get him the best utensils.** A: The underside of the the Scaler has large solid metal prongs (a bit like brush bristles, but thicker and inflexible). You rub these prongs over the surface of the fish and it should remove the scales. I hope this helps.
