NieR - Playstation 3

Fantastic game! I had been looking for this game a while, it's hard to find in the UK (and expensive when you do find one) so I happily bought this US import since the ps3 is region free. I can confirm it works fine. The gameplay itself is really fun, action adventure hack and slash, exactly what I love! My favourite ps3 game is kingdoms of amulur reckoning and this has similarities. My one small gripe about this game is that you can't save whenever you want and there's no autosave, you have to manually save at save points dotted around the world. This means sometimes you lose significant progress if you die. However I can not subtract a star from this great game just for that. So happy to have this in my collection. It's brilliant!

Amazing and one of the most underrated games there is. Shipping to Finland worked without any problems.

This game is hit and miss. The story is okayish, but not really told very well, despite the lyrical reviews by some others. Lots of things are implied but not explained. The fighting is okayish as well. The combat system is not really deep and the weapon upgrade system is simply ridiculous. The three weapons I bought at the weapon shop at the beginning of the game were far more powerful than any of the weapons I obtained through various quests and beating bosses during the game. The magic system was also more or less okay. Only three of the magic skills were useful to me. The game world is rather bland and ugly with graphics from the year 2000. After completing certain main quests, no hints were given what to do next, so the game basically came to an halt and I had to read a walkthrough. The most remarkable aspects of the game for me were the design of Niers' friends Emile and Kainé and the main bosses as well as the music score.There are far better action-adventures for the PS3 with a better developed plot and game mechanics. For instance Darksiders 2, Lords of Shadow 1 or Okami.
