Firstly, in the early stages of an ankle injury it provides support and protection to the ankle area and the elasticated material provides essential compression which helps to minimise swelling and facilitate the healing process. The sleeve has strong velco fasteners to adjust the size of the support depending on the size of the ankle and to additionally alter the degree of compression required. Secondly, the product also comes with an adjustable velcro strap which can be wrapped around the sleeve to provide additional support following ligament injuries. Therefore it is equally as effective during the mid to later stages of injury rehabilitation and when finally returning to playing sport as during the early stages of an injury. It is made high quality neoprene and nylon with an elastic quality enabling the user to vary the amount of compression and support. Neoprene helps retain the body's heat and keeps the muscle warm which encourages blood flow and healing.
